I don't think Giggs will be Liverpool's next manager, he's just signed another 12 month contract.

Why is there a thread on this board about United's next manager?

Seems a naive view - Paisley was Shanks' assistant for 15 years before being elevated. ***an was Paisley's assistant for 8 years. Roy Evans was a coach at Liverpool from 1974 until he became the manager in 1994. No way should you confuse a lack of ambition with a passion and loyalty for a club.

I don't doubt that Queiroz, Kidd and McClaren lacked passion and loyalty to United. Even Kidd, despite playing for us. Hired guns.

Roy Evans may have had passion and loyalty for the club but it didn't make him a great manager. It seems a naive view to think that just because he sat around waiting for the top job that he'd be any good at it.

Roy Evans' record is actually pretty good. Given that he took over a team that had been playing poorly under Souness for three years, he changed the ethos and reinvigorated the team. From scoring 1.33 goals a game and conceding 1.19 in the league, his record had the team scoring 1.7 and conceding 0.96 - that is comparable with the team under ***an, but obviously not as good as under Dalglish, Shankley or Paisley.

Great way to describe the defence of Suarez.

Now I'm really interested. What form of logic is it that morphs hating united managers into the handling of Suarez' defence? Ready when you are.................

There is no logic on this board. It's just random windmills thrown at the world for trying to beat Liverpool into submission.

I clicked on the last post link on the forum home page as I assumed this was a thread on the United board. It was a rational assumption to make as it's a thread about the next United manager.
