I remember their stadium announcer trying to pronounce the QPR squad - 'blimey this ones a tongue twister.....abdul Tara ra ra babat, he's not a local lad is he? 'ang on let me try this one, aykoz bussssooky? ' Classic proper football wet Tuesday a few jars in the wetherspoons a pie, having the crack with paladini at the turnstiles, dire football and proper away support. None of your 'Super Sunday' bollocks
Yeah, agree. All misty-eyed now. Whilst I love us in the top tier, I hate the Sky-induced, money-saturated razzamatazz that is now English footie. I do miss the frosty-pitched, orange-balled games of yesteryear. Chinny Hill of a Saturday night and Brian Moore on a Sunday afternoon. Miss those star footballer of the halcyon days.
I used to have a signature on here which read ' I hate everything about football except the football'. Double edged sword having grown up and fallen in love with the game when it was so different - fantastic nostalgia but those days are never coming back.
I find that you can replace the word Brentford with Fulham lately. Not so much the older ones but definitely the teens - late twenties bracket. They really hate us.
