Yes, folks! It's the "how the mighty fall" great race, with your chance to vote on which of these mighty heads will be the first to roll. Other managers may come and go in the meantime, but the race we're interested in is that between these three particular clowns. Here are the odds:- AVB - Odds-on favourite! He was brought on the back of the mad Russian's delusion that he can run a football club himself with the help of a very expensive puppet, but (inevitably) he's fallen flat on his face. No one is more ruthless than the Russian at air-brushing failures out of history, and I rather suspect that the paint-spray is already on order Queen Kenny - 5/1. They do say that there is no fool like an old fool, and Queen Kenny is certainly proof of that! With so many major gaffs under his belt, it's a wonder his feet are still touching the Klanfield turf. First, he spends £35 million on a donkey striker, despite everyone telling him "it's a donkey, Ken!" Then, he dons a white robe and hood and sets up a burning cross in support of the most racist player in the EPL (pending JT's trial, of course). Not a good start to your push for sainthood, Kenny, old man! Whinger - 10/1. An outside chance that he'll walk first, mainly because Arsenal's octogenarian board don't know what decade it is, let alone what year! Most of them still think a loaf of bread is tuppence. Whinger is still referred to as, "the nice young Frog" within AFC's corridors of power. So, where are you placing your money? Vote now!
Villas-Boas, for me. He could be out the door by the next Premier League game. Dalglish and Wenger both have enough history with their clubs to have earned a big slice of loyalty. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Scousers move Dogleash into another role at the end of the season, but I think Wenger will see out his contract with Arsenal. It would take a disastrous season to dislodge him, I think.
I think Wenger could well leave at the end of the season but he won't be sacked. AVB is walking a tightrope with the Russian, who I think was prepared to be more patient with him but given the scale of their decline and Hiddink's availability, the Portuguese(/Italian, HIAG) manager will be very lucky to still be in charge in August.
Wenger wont be sacked. KK will walk out (possibly with a shove) but not before it's mathematically impossible for them to finish in the top 4. AVB will be gone soon. Before we play them for sure.
Gotta be AVB for me. His team are under performing and Abramovich is a notoriously ruthless chairman. Wenger has done enough for Arsenal to avoid a sacking and I think he's too stubborn to walk away and the Liverpool fans don't look likely to put any pressure on KK anytime soon despite his obvious faults. If KK was any other manager or at any other club I think there'd be a hell of a lot of pressure on him by now...
I don't think you'd get brilliant odds on any of them being where they are at the start of next season....add H to that list.
On paper, Villas-Boas has the upcoming fixtures to see him last until March, but if they get dumped out of the CL by Napoli, he may well be gone before the back-to-back matches with City and Spurs. If they get past Napoli but lose to City and Spurs, he'll either be gone by the Newcastle game.
If I went with my heart I would say Queen Kenny, that figurehead of Mouse delusion, however with my head I have gone for AVB. It's a shame as I actually quite like the guy and think if he was given time he could achieve something at Chelsea. It's impossible not to have a certain amount of respect for Wenger considering what he's achieved, despite his numerous flaws.
AVB is a boring kunt...he tries to be all sophisticated and philosophical..but he just ends up makin me go t
Well, after tonight's dismal performance, we can safely predict that Whinger's odds have shortened. Let's face it, for the return leg, AFC is playing for nothing more than pride. If they can hold Milan to a couple of away goals, they'll have repaired a little of the damage caused to English football tonight, but that's the last they are going to be seeing of CL footy for quite a while, now.
I just have a feeling whinger might walk before the end of the season. If he gets knocked out of the cup I would not be at all surprised for him to leave within a few days. I hope not I quite like what he is doing down there to be honest
Normally, of course, the answer would be " who gives a toss" but, as there all doing such a fine job at the moment, I wouldn't like to see any of them go. I don't get what's going on with The Gooners - it's not as if they haven't got the money. Whatever, long may it last!
