Whereas that would be the best idea to build in a clause to slash wages in the event of relegation, it wouldn't work. You would not get any decent players to sign with those clauses. Same with pay as you play stuff. It's the way to go but every club would have to implement it for it to work
All Bates has to do is get us up and spend **** all. There are no rules on how much you have to spend to get players. Build a team on as little money as possible that is guaranteed to get relegated, get relegated and since our standard wage budget using our standard turnover will be enough to cover the wages of whatever ****e we've signed, he can pocket the £48 million parachute payments. Of course, there is also the fact that there are stricter limitations on playing loan players in the Premier League, which would severely cripple his transfer policy. So maybe you're right, maybe he doesn't want premier league football.
Bates has been caught slagging off indebted clubs for not putting relegation clauses in their players contracts, however.
By giving Redfearn four games at such a crucial stage of the season shows lack of intent to go up. Why are Leeds registered as a company in the Windies? I think the Prem will require Leeds to be registered in UK, something Bates may not like. We need to go up this season for our creditors to get their rightful dosh, but Bates is such a cynical person it wouldn't surprise me if he was happy not having to pay them by missing promotion. By limiting the playing budget, by giving Redfearn a ridiculous four games, Bates is showing a toral lack of intent to get to the Prem. Add to this allowing Delph, Beckford, Johnson, Gradel and Howson to leave and not reinvesting anything back into the squad and you don't have to look for specific reasons, his decision making says it all. We should have had a new manager announced by now.
STR you may be right, but the Prem spotlight, the rules, the money he would have to invest....who knows? His behaviour shows no interest in promotion, and right now that's all we have to go on.
Yeah I think you're right. He's playing it safe at the moment. I'll follow Leeds no matter what, though.
well whitejock im sure your a hard man in a pub------yawn but i stick with my opinion and dont care what a knuckle dragger like you says
I'm not convinced that you're a Leeds fan. No true Leeds fan would ever dare call a fellow fan a 'Bates lover' without serious justification. It's not a phrase you use lightly. I suspect you may be scum on this board looking for trouble. ..... and if you're going to call someone a 'knuckle dragger', at least use the correct grammar and punctuation required. It rather undermines your assertion.
me a scummer ? you havent got a clue i have supported leeds for over forty years been to places to follow them you have never heard of and as for my grammer etc if thats the best you can do in an argument then what a sad state of affairs, your one of these people in life who just likes to rubbish other peoples opinion-----goodnight !
Aha! A reaction. You clearly like being called scum as much as I do being called a Bates lover. Not nice, is it? I'll happily retract if you will. Otherwise, justify your assertion.
ok i will retract "bates lover" only said that cause i didnt like your lack of respect for my opinion, wanted a reaction and sure got one
