So you're happy to see a tax-avoiding, overspending, piss-taking football club go unpunished, when we were punished for far less than they have done in the past few years. Grow a pair. This is football, not life or death, and they should be punished as deemed suitable by the relevant authorities.

The rivalry of a local derby is only appealing if you have nothing better to get excited about. I prefer the spine tingling experience of a top-of-the-table clash rather than the mind numbing, bubble controlled, riot police experience of a derby day with pompey. I wouldn't miss them at all.

No, not at all, but I do want to see them come out of it. I don't want them to go to the wall. If you were a regular visitor to this site [I've not seen you many times], and read my many posts on this sort of subject, you'd know that.

Not claiming what Pompey fans have done in the past is justified(Bans, hooligans etc). But know this; most of the decent Pompey fans never wanted you to go out of business. Only the minority who hide behind computers. Even when you tried to cheat your way out of admin (yes we ain't ones to talk at the mo) I didn't want you to go pop. Nothing beats a derby match. You Stripehampton life would soon be meaningless after a few months without us to try and wind u[.

Well Said Hermie! I personally want Pompey to survive somehow, as we need you, as much as you need us (even if it is for the abuse)

Herm, its not personal, I'm just sick of Gaydemak/Chanrai raping the system.

I don't control the bubble. I don't control the intensity, the sheer bloody nastiness of the rivalry. To me, Portsmouth FC is a neighbouring football club, 21 miles away. They are our nearest neighbours and I enjoy the rivalry that comes from when i was a youngster, and it was still relatively friendly.

Of course I prefer the top-of-the-table clashes, as I prefer success to mediocrity. But I also want a strong contingent of south coast football, with Saints in the vanguard. I'm quite sick and tired of the south coast being a backwater of football. Pundits talk about down there as if this latitude was some foreign football country. Well, Pompey going to the wall doesn't make that any better.

Just me and you TSS...I still have a sneaky feeling that the right result for Pompey fans will come out at the end of the season. Out of admin, high earning players gone, Applemort + half a decent Championship squad still in. Who owns it? Well I haven't thought of that bit yet.

As you can see from my post count I am a regular, though i tend to skim over your posts (because they're mostly very long and i don't have the time).

On the topic, I'm happy to accept whatever punishment is deemed suitable by the powers that be. If that is a 10 point deduction only then so be it, if it turns out to be liquidation then again, so be it. I fel sorry for the true fans, but on the other hand I am seeking justice and justice only, the way the club has been run is out of line, and in my opinion should merit firm and decisive action. This is a serious matter and sympathy should not influence the final conclusion of the case.

Tbf, JakeW, it does seem that we aren't that far apart in our opinions, after all. It's a shame you tend to skim over my posts, as most times I try to take the time to write half decent posts that hopefully are worth reading.

EDIT: And whatever the outcome tomorrow, I won't be celebrating.

As someone who lives in a "football hotbed" I agree. I try to tell people that Everton v Liverpool or one of the scouse teams v Man Utd is a friendly compared to us v Pompey and they think I'm joking. I love the rivalry. I hate the invective, but rivalry is great. I'd love us to win the Premiership with Pompey second on goal difference because of a rubbish penalty decision in our favour on the last day!

I'm sure your posts are good quality, it reflects nothing on you that I decide to skim read them due to other reasons.

I'd recommend you do, he's always got interesting things to say. Certainly more than a fair few others!

I'll personally not be celebrating. It's a hard time for them and I wish they get through because I like the rivalry - but any punishment they receive is, let's not be too sympathetic, fully justified.
