Unlike the teams who qualified through their league positions we are not in it on merit, we are in it because we messed up. The fact the competition is used as a fallback for those who mess up their Champions League Groups devalues it. Winning the competition would not be a moment of pride because of the way we "qualified" for it. I am annoyed with our players for their attitude in the Champions League this season where we played as if we just expected to win. I don't see why those same players should be given a fallback competition to try and win.
The Premier League is made of harder men. In Spain, the only hardman is a midget called Messi. Otherwise there are "tough guys" like Busquets, Alves and Pepe.
Well I hope the players learn from their Champions League failure this season and that it gives them a kick up the arse. We played as if we would just stroll through our group. Far too much complacency. Instead of the full and proper punishment of being out of Europe all together the players are given the chance to have a crack at another competition. It's almost like awarding failure in this case.
Lol at the triumphant United 'faithful' after a win in the Mickey Mouse Europe tin cup. How the mighty have fallen. <sad>
Not as sad as not having qualified for any european competition this season at all. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO)LOOLOOOOLLLLLLOLOL
A Liverpool fan(atic) talking about how the mighty have fallen? It would be a success if you qualified for the "tin cup". For a club thats won the european cup 5 times thats a quite a fall. .
I like to think of third in the group as "qualifying" . As for March...the ides i presume. I just need to work out which one of you is Brutus.
Swarbs. Where are you meeting your Cambridge uni/CERN mate? Why don't you bring him to the Bridge Bar Make sure you tell him about my LFC - LHC theory. And make sure you find out when the lazt twats are switching the fu.ker on again
