you can watch it over and over again, his passing's are just beautiful. Even at 37 there, he is still the best ball passer in the league. again today he made a little cameo and made a beautiful pass to Jones. I wonder where we would be if we had Scholes from the start. When Scholes is playing, it makes our midfield look more stronger because only now and then, ocne in a million times you see him giving the ball away.
I think it would have helped. Hernandez made quality runs all match but most of the time he was overlooked or the pass to him was not good enough/late.
I remember when we re signed him, some fans of ours were saying he is passed it, he is too old yet he has come back and with the way he is playing, its like he has not been away.
Seeing as how we were already out of the CL when he made his comeback, your effort at a WUM doesn't really make much sense. He's gotten back to top form now and its a joy to see. I'd like to see where his critics after the city game our now. What do you reckong the chances of him signing a new contract are?
Ah, so that would be outclassed in: The 2009 final that he played for the last 15 minutes? The 2010 quarter final that he didn't play in? The 2011 final that he played for the last 14 minutes? Plastic fail
Didn't he score the goal against Barca to win the semi final in 2008? And then went on to win the European Cup? Even at the age of 33 he was lauding it over European football. At the age of 37 he has to settle for lauding it over Gerrard!
Any1 who says Gerrard is better is delusional, notice all the greats always mention Scholesy as there fave player etc not Stevie G Legend
He made that Hollywood just infront of me last night. I've never noticed before but the ball had backspin on it! I think rejoining at this stage of the season has benefitted him because he's only just getting into 'his' season. And in line with the last two seasons, he has always started both playing top class football and good energy. I didn't think we would win the title without Vidic. But maybe, the return of Scholes might give us the edge to pip City. It could be his Cantona '96 moment or looked back on as having the same boost that Larsson brought in '07.
The 2009 final that he played for the last 15 minutes? The 2010 quarter final that he didn't play in? The 2011 final that he played for the last 14 minutes? Thanks for illustrating my point perfectly, Swarbs, which was: 'He struggles in champions league these days. But he is good enough for Thursday football.' SAF obviously agrees with me: benching him for all those big games.
Even though at 37 he's still better then any of Chelsea's midfielder's haha, remember the game we drew 3-3, he came on and he controlled the midfield
Scholes is better then any of your midfielders now. Heck he is better then any midfielder in Chelsea history even at 37. Not hard though.
He's a great Premiership player who has had lots of brilliant games v Chelsea. It is unfortunate his one great game v Barcelona was when they finished 20 points behind Real in 2008. But Like SAF he has never got to grips with Spanish sides. PS I would say Gullit was a better all round player especially in big games. That is not to denigrate Premierhsip legend Scholes
