It was no "trouble" at all, I looked for new threads and this was one of them, I was not commenting on Port Vale's situation but Rangers, as they were mentioned in the OP.

How many people on the Celtic boards pushing for entry to the EPL (or promised land)? Not many that i've seen and any who are saying it are morons or at the wind up so your preaching to me is a waste of time, I among many thousands of other Celtic fans am happy to stay in Scotland. We are after all, a Scottish club.

Maybe you should read what I personally say in future and not dredge up what you allege my fellow Tims are saying as if I have some guilt by association tag hanging from my neck.

There's no need to flag up my post before you answer, I'm well aware of it's content. Of course you are a Scottish club so why would you not want to remain in Scotland's premier league. Much better to be the Whale in that puddle than a sprat in an ocean. I don't recall saying that "you said" either but was merely commenting on what some were saying on the Celtic board. As I don't generally frequent it then I have no idea who your WUMs are up there. Seemed to me they were being serious regarding it though so it had me going. I was going to say best of luck to Celtic for the rest of the season but I guess you will be receiving the Champions cup the week after next so you don't need good wishes.

Personally I don't see the difference between having Welsh or Scottish teams in the EFL, with Scotland though they do seem to enjoy being seperate from us in all matters, IMO English football league should mean just that!

It's habit, and as i'm senile I have difficulty recalling what people have said so I like to remind myself.

I don't keep track of why other clubs are in trouble but I do know Rangers are in trouble and the reason why, that's all I commented on (or attempted to).

As for being a big fish in small pond i'm happy with that because there really is no other option and i'm a realist. English football needs Celtic like a bike needs a 3rd wheel. As for the Champions Cup, we won't be lifting it any time in the near future but fortunately we have it listed in our honours so that'll have to do for now.

I didn't mean Champions League Cup I meant the Scottish PL winners cup for being Champions in Scotland. Just to put that on the record.

Look, I agree that everyone should pay their bills although there does seem to be some argument as to whether Rangers have acted illegally currently. Our own resident business Guru, notdistant, says they may not have so I accept that as he knows better than I do what all of it means. We went bust and lots of people didn't get their money and that was a source of great shame for us Argyle supporters when it happened. Nobody with the exception of a couple of morons thought it was good or that the football club had acted properly. All we were grateful for was that our club survived to fight another day despite the embarrassment of the debts. But, in Scotland it is different. Surely you need Rangers to be a viable force because without some sort of competition, even if it is only one club, your whole premier league is meaningless from the day the season kicks off. Ergo you need Rangers as much as the Rangers supporters need their club to come through this. Should you not be hoping along with them that they do irrespective of the history between the two?

Simply put, when Celtic nearly went out of business no one lent a hand to us, there were no Government officials wringing their hands, no one in the press or media in general said that Scottish Football needed Celtic, far from it. Sympathy was thin on the ground and if it had not been for one man, Fergus McCann, Celtic may not be here today. Likewise Motherwell, Dundee, Gretna, Airdie and Clydebank who vanished completely were not treated as special cases and no one gave a cuss for their plights.

You must understand there is a feeling of deep resentment within the Celtic support that Rangers, who are in serious financial trouble of their own making, are for some reason being looked upon as a worthy cause. They are football Club, no more no less. No one will die if they do, it will be another institution/business which hit the skids and it is no more deserving of sympathy than Lehman Bros bank.

I don't recall Celtic nearly going out of business but assume as you say it then it must have been the case. I wouldn't want Celtic to go under either as with any club and the only reason I posted on this thread in the first place was because of Port Vale rather than Rangers initially. Of course it is a business and as such is or should be as vulnerable as any other if mismanaged. My stance however is looking at it from a football point of view and what it would do to your premier league which is not rated very highly now around the globe. I would have said the same thing to a Rangers supporter that I say to you, you need each other and without both your league as good as dies of any competition at all. There are no other clubs who will come close for a very long time. No competition and a poorer standard to take into Europe each year where any small chance of progressing in it would be lost almost completely. If you have an almost easy 3 points every week then when real opposition arrives the gulf will show.

I see Portsmouth are now in admin for the second time. A 10 point deduction has put them in a relegation position.

It's only gonna get worse and IMO Portsmouth are a big club.

A myth perpetrated by a compliant press.

Have a look at this (and part 2) if you can be bothered. It may be enlightening.

The SPL i feel is on par with our League one on a good day. Its not a good thing clubs going to administration. But i feel the Celtic fans will gloat about Rangers. I some how feel there will be a lot more clubs soon having to do the same, hope fully they will not be done like we were. They may not be so lucky if they get Mr Guilfoyle and Co. Sensible no need to get involved with them, just keep to our own nice little board. He must be lost! well give him credit we are green also!
