At face value you would have to say that these are positive signings for the club. It does however, seem to be an attempt by the manager to side-step the real issues.

It does make you wonder that if the chairman had given the same level of backing to MS, we would probably be in League One... :emoticon-0120-doh:

    Have I had a senior moment:eek: I thought King was £200k and Jackson £150k, £350k on 2 players sounds like backing.<ok>

King was signed under Jepson a few months prior to MS coming in.

Your senior moment is worse than first feared <cheers>

OK. so he was here before Stimson but it was money spent in that season, he also spent on Julian, Miller, Thugood (yes he did cost us money) Nutter.
I'm not saying whether Stimson was good or bad but he certainly had money to spend and a much higher wage bill.

Not taking sides but I think the likes of Lee, Welpdale, Spilled and Kedwell would be on a sizable pay packet, but then again McCammon was earning a fair bit too. The only thing we can really say is both managers were given funds and a chance to build a team. The whole who is better is a pointless debate.

PS I could be wrong but I thought Thurgood was only with the club on loan?

Thurgood came on loan in November 2007 and signed after 2 months January 2008.

Hessenthaler has spent more in League Two than MS ever did in his reign Grumps.

It has been a tragedy not to have seen Birchall play in pink and blue yet that most certainly would have allowed more managerial focus on what the back four have been doing all year. To the chairman's great credit he has continued to back the man at the helm despite big spends having not materialised in good form (Kedwell included). I certainly don't think MS had that kind of backing; perhaps that's how he learned how to play the loan market so well.

Pointless signings. A central midfielder and a centre back who has only played a handful of games in the last 18 months.

    Concerned and bemused.

a midfielder to hopefully replace one of montrose or weston, but still no defender which is whats needed, because to go with any of richards, lawrence or martin is asking for it!

just hope any of essam, evans and davies get to start, would also be good to see king get one last swan song!!!

have this ugly feeling punt poor richards will play and be made captain...i really hope not, because he's played every minute of our loses!!!

please take note for once hess and sort this team out...if you can ?

I would be disgraced if Richards is captain, it would make me lose all faith in Hessenthaler.

Evans has to start, as does Payne.

Presumably Essam in for Frampton and i would rather have Lawrence alongside him for guidance as Richards is horribly bad. Presume Framton is out?
