I know he's pandering to the idiots by doing this. If anyone changes how they vote based on a fat **** helping a football team then they should be banned from voting. Venom, you're talking pish You wouldn't want them to interfere even if it was in the laws.
I'm not saying that they should help out financially but if it was legal then clubs like Motherwell, Gretna, Dundee, Livingston and Rangers were shambolically run by people who had no grasp on how to successfully manage the day-to-day operations of a football club. These clubs could be given advice. There should be some sort of SFA/SPL help for these teams but there isn't. I'd happily accept a Governmental group which was involved in keeping our game afloat. But only if it was a fair and level playing field and every team was afforded the same treatment. However, I don't remember Salmond having anything to say about Livingston or Dundee in recent years so why should he be speaking out for Rangers?
