Possibly worried that the PFA would lead some sort of players striker in the near future which would hit Sky's pocket.

At the end of the day, only one person did the deed and it would all have ended if he had said he didn't mean it.

    really?
only one person initiated the confrontation - evra
only one person initiated the abuse - evra, making a reference about luis' sisters genitalia.
only one person threatened physical violence - evra.

all admitted to in the fa investigation by evra, the same player who admitted to arguing with the ref about the coin toss, and calling the ref a liar.

by my count thats 5 violations of the fa rules by evra, all with verifiable evidence and confessions. admonitions, censure, sanctions applied by the FA? - NONE.

one phrase, freely admitted to the usage of once, by suarez, with NO RACIST CONNOTATIONS, as confirmed by linguistic experts that actually speak SPANISH, and moreover, the rioplatenese dialect that suarez would have used.
with no evidence WHATSOEVER, of any other usage. outcome - fined, and wholly disproportionate suspension by the FA, vilified and branded a racist by the press and the large percentage of the population that takes anything printed in the press as gospel, or too bloody stupid to examine the evidence and draw their own conclusions.

and yes, suarez did admit to the deed, before the investigation started, stating exactly what he said, and explaining how it was not racist, that he would not knowingly say anything racist. result - the situation did not end, the press deliberately took the bits they wanted, twisted around to 'suarez IS racist' and made the whole situation even worse.

also evra claims he isn't fluent in spanish, in that case, why has he been used as a translater for the spanish speaking south americans at man u? surely the manager would want someone who is fluent, to ensure the players know exactly what he wants from them? why did he start the altercation with suarez in spanish then? and surely, having done that, suarez would be free to respond in spanish, fully expecting evra to understand exactly what he said, including any linguistic nuances particular to the spanish language.
and evra is a native french speaker, fluent in english, and at the least, conversant in spanish, surely, if translating what suarez said was necessary to understanding, he'd have translated it directly to english or french. why did he feel the need to mis-translate it into italian and then further mis-translate it into english in order to create a racist response? THAT is simply not a plausible action, and brings into further question evra's accounts of the incident.

in the end suarez accepted his medicine and then foolishly stoked it again.

like it or not if terry can be charged for saying the words he said the suarez admitted saying the same thing in spanish...

the reality is the club let themselves down in how the talked to the ref and press and how the conducted the interviews with the panel too... suarez should have goettn 4 matches, no more had the club done a professional job..

Utterly, but I'm so bored by it that I glaze over posts relating to the affair. Even from LFC fans.

Problem is that threads on this subject on either site (many of which have been closed by mods from both sides) invite wums from other clubs.

    This is still being discussed

yes, it's a response to a post made only 10 hours ago, where i believed the poster was wrong, instead of just saying 'you're wrong' or insulting the poster, which seems to be the usual activitiy on these forums, i thought i would actually include details of why i thought he was wrong. if people disagree, they have my reasons for my beliefs available, and are able to discuss and debate those points. i believe that is actually the purpose of discussion forums like this existing? or should i just post insults?
i understand that the sheer amount of times the subject has been posted about, people can get fed up with it, but i'm not forcing them to read it. they should be capable of working out the subject matter within the first few sentences and are free to skip reading the rest of the post if they want.

There are some people who still wish to discuss this and have fresh opinions on the subject.

If you don't want to discuss this topic then a) don't read it and b) don't reply

    1. conscepe you are not on the utd baord... this one is only on LFC baord

    2. ergo you are trawling this board to make said comment which takes more effort than a bored man would put in... i thought you hit the banther thread due to it being on utd baord but maybe not!

    3. people have a right to express their comments as you have a right to coutner them... so... comment as you wish but don't be suprised nobody stops cos you say you are bored.

I general comment on your board as it has more United related threads than Liverpool threads <whistle>

Plus, I'm trying to defuse a potential slanging match which people are bored of which seems to have gone over your head <ok>

you can't stop people debating a subject because it bores you. everyone is bored by something, taken to extremes, like most wums do, there wouldn't be any forums then.

i understand that some idiots will hijack threads and fill them with vitriol, but surely by attempting to continue a sensible debate, some of the more wavering 'idiots' can actually learn something, and maybe change their views a bit. surely that's a better option than not debating something, and leaving such people to get 100% of their information from a clearly biased and self-serving press.

kingeric07 disagrees with some of my views, i'd like to know what ones and why, and have a sensible debate.
if more people from such rival clubs were debating issues properly, more of these idiots would realise that you can have a good rivalry with each other without having to resort to offensive or violent behaviour.

Can tell you are new on here, you still think the idiots and wums on here will actually read and learn from your (very sensible and balanced) posts. How quaint!

Hmmmm. Correct this is the not the Utd board but as far as I remember unless you are banned you can post anywhere and express an opinion something you agree I'm entitled to have. Quite a number of Liverpool fans venture across to the Utd board which you all know of course.

Sorry for me hoping the whole Suarez merry go round would sometime stop. But sadly some posters (new or otherwise) wish to go over the same old ground time and time again.

Okokok. Right. So this is slipping back into a suarez debate, fair enough - free speech and all that, so those who have no willingness to talk about this anymore just leave the thread, as I shall do <ok>

terrifictraore, unfortunately i don't think the idiots and wums will learn from sensible debate :headbang: , but at least we're providing them the opportunity to do so. But i do know that if we don't continue having such debates, they will have nothing but the press to learn from.
god help us all if that's where we end up.
