Bates has confirmed that the Delph deal will not be extended. Shock horror. http://www.leeds.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=272927
Delph said he wanted to stay. Bates must have approached Villa. But it would appear Villa have said no. Not a lot we can do about that. Pity, but there we go
Didn't appease me! I thought it was a waste of money from the off. I don't think he's added anything to our midfield that couldn't be covered by the players we've already got. The miney could have been spent in more deserving areas. .....and he's still as impetuous as he ever was. I was cringing at some of his tackles on Saturday. I don't think he's learned anything in the Premier League.
Looks like TC and Mighty are having a lovers tiff on :- http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/125104-Why-Lee-Clarke-would-be-great-for-Leeds
Oh ffs... I've just worked out what bates master plan is. Oh no, it's horrifying the amount of money we're going to have to pay for it.
Coz im sure Bates was the one who signed Delph.... Grayson had nothing to do with who he brought in. But I do agree it was a bad attempt at diverting attention away from the Howson sale which didn't work
While yes the manager does at the end of the day decide who gets brought in, we'd be fools to thing bates doesn't have his hand in the cookie jar on that one. I guarantee he has a bigger influence on signings than your average chairman, everything is tailored to suit his master plan, whatever it is, and since the end result is to suck as much money out of Leeds United as possible, that's not good.
Well im not entirely sure about that but obviously can't say for sure. Grayson admitted to saying that the final say of Howson was down to him, and he also admitted that he was excited to sign Delph and that he was on the radar. But again that doesn't get away from the fact that that was a poor attempt at a distraction from the sale of Howson
Didn't Grayson say that he had been planning a move for delph since the start of January and long before Norwich made a bid for Howson? And Delph was our best player against Brighton, ran rags around the Brighton players. Just a shame we can't buy him permanently but Santa's a w@nker and never gives us what we want
Your Chairman tells you there is no money in the pot and that Howson will be leaving on a free at the end of the season. However we can get 2 million for him now and that will give you some spending power in the transfer window. Grayson takes the spending power option, moves for a new CB and CM and gets knocked back by the Chairman saying we have too many players and can't afford the wages. Grayson finally stands up to Bates telling him how we are in need of an experienced defender and a quality midfielder and the following day he is sacked for daring to speak out. The following home match day that same chairman snipes and digs at Grayson in an attempt to turn fans on him and tells us it is time to get someone in who can have more of an influence on the payers we have. He appoints Redfearn because of the good vibes around the place and the buzz, we then lose two matches playing awful and looking second rate to the basement team who had five first teamers out. Bates is a twat and you really are in a minority if you believe otherwise Josh
Howson left because he wanted to leave, it's not as if he was sold against his will. Grayson made as many cock ups as good decissions, not only when his hands were tied but also with tactics during games. Now we have a temp manager who "was trying to secure a point" against the bottom team FFS. Bates is a to***r and although he can be blamed for a majority of whats going on the others have to face up to the fact that they have failed our club also.
Of course it did work. Still 23,000 at last game at Elland Road. They mustn't have much problem with Bates and his shenanigans despite what we would like to believe
