It's a playground thing, where the goalie is allowed to run out, I think.

To be fair to Bart, It's probably no different as he still sits there on the bench with the group and he is still in his normal matchday routine. He probably also understands the reasons why, and he won't kick off

I mentioned it elsewhere, Lambo has proved he can, score, create and defend with equal success, I bet if he went in goal he would play and absolute blinder!

Presumably one of the defenders must be willing to go in goal..too much of a risk otherwise. Smack in the teeth for the sub goalie...but probably worth the risk.

Number 1 source of playground arguments...I remember some controvertial incidents with rush goalies.

I remember this, and to this day I don't know what the difference is between a rush goalie and a normal one, where you are perfectly entitled to dribble the ball right up the pitch and score if you feel like it (and if your own players don't murder you for getting caught in possession and letting a lobbed goal in).

What would make more sense than a rush goalie is that if the person in goal comes out of the penalty area, someone else can immediately become the goalie until they get back!

Kelvin could play rush goalie. As far as I'm aware, there's no rule that says a goalie must stay between the sticks.

Strange thing, language. It occurs to me that Rickie, Adam and Jos are all keepers. But Tommy really isn't!;)

Between the sticks?!! Earlier in the season when we were on fire he spent half the match outside of the penalty area anyway!

I know goalies come out more these days and act as sweepers, but I'm of a nervous disposition and would personally tie Kelvin to the goalposts with a bungee cord.

I've been quite vocal all season about not selecting a keeper on the bench, so I'm very pleased to see Nigel no longer picking one.

When we went in with only one keeper against Blackpool, Adkins confirmed that Richardson would go into goal should anything happen to Bart. Presumably therefore Richardson remains the alternative option.

Bart has not been dropped because of his ability, or lack of it. Adkins confirmed that he's simply being positive and giving us more options.

Yep, and a good option too. Next season, should all go well, we'll have 7 subs to choose from, so I'm sure there'll be a place for another keeper. However, we have so many outfield options I suppose it's worth taking the gamble.
