Poor Tom. Not been a good season for him.

what do you all think lies ahead for Huddlestone? - Scott and Luka have been brilliant this year, but we have Sandro and Livermore as cover, who are both trying to push their way in to the starting line up.

Does anyone feel that we might have seen the last of Tom in a spurs Shirt? a season out could make things really difficult for him and even he might weigh up his options, having assessed how strong our midfield is from the sidelines. Yes, it's likely we'll have CL football next year, but with additions that are likely to strengthen us further over the summer; Do you feel that even with 2 games a week & domestic competitions, there would be room for 5-6 CM's?

I personally rate Thudd very highly and wouldn't like to see him leave, but I feel he might, simply due to the competition for places. He's also going to be in demand from a number of clubs in the prem as they'll spot this situation.

    thoughts?

I don't think he'll be sold. He's been very unlucky, he was due back in November but suffered set back after set back, even after starting running training. Get well soon Tommy <ok>

Didn't he say he wasn't gonna shave his beard/cut his hair (1 of the 2) until he scored again for us?

By the time he does score his beard/hair is gonna have its own intelligence!

He'll look like a beefed up Benny/Tookie Williams. That should scare the shyte out of any opposition team, not to mention the ref :D

I'd definitely keep him - we always do better with 3 in midfield against top opposition and while Sandro, Parker, Modric would be my first choice we need more than just Livermore as back up especially as Parker is over 30

Can't sell him, he will be back in the team when fit.

Better than Livermore and Parker is 31 so won't be around forever.

i'm still looking forward to seeing Hudd pair up with Sandro. I think they'd be a good option for certain games.

To be fair when he comes back fully fit, it'll be like a new signing <ok>

Firstly, I can't see him being sold - he's not deadwood, we're not desperate to raise some funds, and there's a place for him in our squad.

More importantly, when he comes back in pre-season he'll be raring to go - and, as he's an important player to have around, that's a good thing. His range of passing has been missed in some games this season, plus having him back means we have healthy competition in midfield as well as another player for youngsters to learn from (with teachers like Hudds and Luka, Tom Carroll could be the next breakout prospect from our academy)

Some of our players have really suffered with injury this season, haven't they?
    Screwed our Europa campaign totally.

I'm with LockStock on this one.
Having the likes of Sandro, Huddlestone and Kranjcar available from the bench and for rotation will be key if we get back into the Champions League next season.

Yes the EL suffered but tbh it may be better in the long run - I doubt the likes of Livermore/Carroll etc would've improved so much without it. Livermore is now a very capable squad player and Carroll (and others) have secured loan deals with decent clubs (better than they would've got without the EL).

Very true Moorpheus, but it still annoys me a little.
We went into a number of those games with virtually our whole second XI missing.

Anyone know how Carroll's getting on at Derby?

You have to feel for Townsend, who moved to Leeds and promptly got dropped to the bench when Grayson was sacked.

He seemed to be playing on the right before that, too.
    Recall!

We do have a strong MF line up atm, but thats not to say it will be the same one come end of August. Its a long season for those involved in the Euros, so Hudds place is safe for now imo.

I still don't know why he got sent out on loan in the first place - seeing as how Rose seems to have become a LB (something which I don't think he's entirely suited for but hey ho) Townsend seems at the moment to be a good squad player for when players like Lennon get injured.

Everybody seems to be of that opinion Lidls, but Huddlestone and Modric was our midfield pairing during the run in when we finished 4th.
The wins over Arsenal, Chelsea and City were all achieved with those two in the middle.

Having said that, I do prefer the mix of Modric and Parker.
Sandro and Huddlestone has a nice balance to it though, I think and it'd be nice to have the option of trying it out.

I think you should stop using that one tbh mate, just read it...finished 4th...finishing 3rd or higher is another level, and I know you know that. <ok>

Hudd would be fine with Parker or Sandro in a 5 man mid, but not instead of as the only DM...not even for rotational purposes either!, as said, far too exposed. Having said that, his A game is a great option as we know, but his shortcomings need covering to be as water tight as were are now.
