I think if we had invested in the team and didn't sell Fabregas Nasri would've stayed. After all he asked to see some investment in the squad and all he saw was Jenkinson, Gervinho and OXO and Fabregas going.
You really think that? Or is that what you have been brainwashed to think by the press, because it makes no sense whatsoever. Because he recognised the investment being made at Arsenal. Absolute bollocks! You still just don't get it. It isn't an "investment" being made at City, they don't expect anything back, they just don't care about the money. You cant "out-invest" City or Chelsea or even compete, because it isn't an "investment" in the strict sense of the word.
In all honesty no one knows for sure how much we got for Fabregas or how the fee is being paid. It's all speculation
I think Wenger did everything in his power to keep Fabregas. Some people on here were saying that he should have sold him and Nasri right at the start of the transfer window if you remember?.....if that were the case then I think he could have been accused of not doing enough to try and keep them, but as it was he fought to the last to keep Fabregas. The transfer fee was a rip off, we did get mugged, but that was because Barca were the only club that Fabregas would entertain, so I totally knackered our bargaining position. It was clear that Fabregas' heart wasn't in it at Arsenal and he wanted a move to Barca. But to say that Wenger didn't fight his hardest to keep Fabregas is not correct.
Jenkinson, Gervinho, Oxo, Arteta, Mertesacker and Santos actually - we strengthened in every position that needed it.
Why are Sky more accurate than anyone else. They are just a media company peddling stories to try and attract new customers
I agree that we got shafted on the transfer price over Fabregas, but I don't think it was in Wenger's or Fabregas' interest to hold him against his will at the club. It would have just eaten away at team morale. I think Wenger did all he could reasonably do to keep Fabregas. As for the investment in the team, Wenger said at the beginning of the transfer window (as he does most times) that most deals happen in the last couple of days. So no surprises there really. I don't think Fabregas left because we hadn't made any signings at that point - he left because his heart was set on a move home. As for Nasri, he is just a greedy ****. His expensively assembled team, full of prima donnas, which he struggles for a place in and who have been dumped out of the FA Cup and the Champions league is a perfect example of why the grass isn't always greener. He claimed he was leaving to win trophies, then it was because of the stadium, then it was because of the fans - classic sidestepping the real reason - it was for the money.
Thirty games for him this season with a few goals but more assists. Playing with the world's best, competing for two trophies and on course for a domestic chamionship medal. I'm sorry pixie but "the grass" is most certainly greener for Samir and for the right reasons. You are welcome to Benayoun and Arteta.
So Nasri's grass is greener because apart from the EPL he's fighting for more trophies - those being the Europey Cup and the.... wait for it.... FA youth cup Almost sounds like wumming to me
We were saying to sell Fab and Nas ASAP because they could be replaced quickly therefore. If we signed Goetze and Hazard to replace both of them (longshot I know) we could have been right up there this season!
