    I'm not agreeing with Proud.

But I feel that we do have a lot of players that could get into your side BASED ON TALENT.

But BASED ON ATTITUDE they won't be able to.

    Capiche?

Looks like a fiery start to a good thread! Does that mean CanariesSoccer is being rested for another week?

I'm curious how we line up to be honest, especially in defense!

Firstly, Naughton isn't available for the cup so that rules him out of the defence. Comments from Lambert earlier in the week indicate we might be missing Drury for this one, Bennett may have taken a knock too, ruling him out of an emergency defensive role. I think it'll be Martin-Ward-Barnett-Lappin across the back, and I'd hope to see Steer continue in goal. Maybe a start for Crofts in midfield, and Morison in for Holt to give the big man a rest?

Put it this way. Norwich got smashed 7-1 on their own patch. Do you really think if you had Paul Lambert that would of happened. No

Because he makes the team have the right mentality and team ethic. Thats what Nigel gave us first time around and is trying to re install now. Hull didnt have it when Nigel went there but do now.

You can have very good players but if they dont have the right sort of application and work ethic then they wont get very far. Look at QPR's team compared to yours then if you like. They have some big names (Wright-Phillips, Zamora, Taarabt, Cisse, Barton, Ferdinand, Young) but they dont have the right mental approach which will stop them achieving their potential

Why have Tottenham stopped Naughton playing? Dont you have him for the season

There is alot of friendly rivalry between the players with Danny Drinkwater, Lee Peltier and Sean St. Ledger from our team as they are best mates with James Vaughan and Anthony Pilkington

To be honest I'm not sure why Naughton can't play, I'm taking that from an Evening News report I'm assuming to be correct. He also didn't start against Burnley in the last round. I'd like to see Vaughan in the team, he's scored in his last 2 reserve outings, one being yesterday.

Yeah we had Vaughan on loan a few years back, he looked decent but kept getting injured. Naughton was class for us last season and we all wanted him back more then Yakubu.

Actually I agree with you that Lambert has instilled a really good attitude in the team and no player is bigger or more important than any other, but I also believe its a lot more than that. The Management team at NC have taken players with promise and developed their talent and attitudes to make them better players, so whilst their reputations and history may not look great "on paper" they ARE now very, very good players. Furthermore the Management team has given them the tactics and structure to be succesful and unlike a number of prem teams we arent a one trick pony that only has a plan A, we change shape & system often mid match to give ourselves the best chance of winning. In my opinion anyway it is this that has been the prime reason for our success this year, but, without the quality of players we have built we would still be staring at the relegation battle instead of contemplating the fantastic possibility of European football next year.

My wife supports Leicester and has for many years and I've seen them play a few times this year. I agree you have some very strong players not just on paper either (particularly Nugent!) but you lack the tactical awareness and team based approach to be consistently succesful. I do believe though that Norwich will get a real test from you guys, though of course I'm confident that it will be us going into the hat for 1/4 final draw come Sunday.

I have had to come out of my NOT606 retirement for this thread!!!

Proud_Fox - there are people that are biased about their team, then there is you!

You said in another thread that Nigel Pearson is equally as good as Paul Lambert, now you're saying that your players are better on paper than ours! I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

You may very well get a replay or even beat us, and to be honest, with the defensive problems we have at the moment, I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if you did beat us. However, let me be clear about this - Pearson is nowhere near as good as Lambert and our players (on paper) are better than yours. I wouldn't want one of your players in our squad let alone team.<ok>

I think it was something to with the loan agreement with Spurs that meant he could be recalled in January if they needed him, so we were asked not to play him in the cup. Now that the transfer window has passed and Spurs can't recall him he may be able to play as there is no way he can go back to London.

If Paul Lambert is a great manager as you suggest why isnt he at a bigger club? He has worked wonders with you just like Nigel did for us first time around. There was no Newcastle's or West Brom's last season so it was anybodys league. With your momentum it helped carry you through. Nigel Pearson is a very good manager and him and Lambert are on par. Paul Jewell took Wigan though the leagues just like Paul Lambert has and now look at him. Its too early in his career to say he is in a different class to Nigel when both have achieved simaliar amounts of success. Our team on paper is prem class but when they play as a team sometimes they show their potential and sometimes they look league 1 standard but Nigel will sort that out given time.

And you last statement just shows how little you know. Sol Bamba would walk into all the prem teams outside to top 6. And if you dont believe me your then you havent seen him. He didnt concede a goal all tournament through the african cup of nations and kept Karim Benzema in his back pocket along with nearly every striker he has come against this season. Add to him David Nugent who would be class up top for you with Holt and Morison. Paul Konchesky is the best left back in this league and is proven in the prem at every club hes been at except Liverpool. And Kasper Schmeichel would get in nearly every prem club with the exception of maybe Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Wigan and Newcastle

Careful Proud_Fox, if your players are that good, and have the right attitude, we might be after a couple of them this summer!

I've seen fans go a bit crazy when they get money (see: Ipswich Fans) but that has to be just about the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen written on this website. Congratulations.

The attitude of the players is changing at the minute. When Nigel took over the attitude wasnt good enough but Nigel is changing that.

Take Jermaine Beckford for example, he was lazy, complained too much and wasnt a team player

Now he runs around alot more, doesnt complain as much and works for the team and the goals are starting to come for him.

Fortunately we're in a position of financial strength where we can hold off most of the smaller clubs in the Prem.

Nugent, Schmeichel and Bamba are probably our best 3 players and it'd take something closer to 12-15m for all 3 <ok>

You have the bare faced cheek to accuse me of knowing little.<doh>

As for Lambert, he is currently managing a team that sit 8th in the Premier League, not 3 years after taking over after we lost 7-1 at home in League One. In those 2 1/2 years he has lost 2 games on the bounce ONCE and has not let one team do the league double over us. The last team that achieved back to back promotions to the Premier League was Man City, and that was over 10 years ago. There are more stats as well.

What has Pearson done that is anywhere remotely good as that.
