I find it very easy not to be racist, I live in a mainly white area, the only time I see a skin colour that is not white is, the doctors, hospital, takeaway, corner shop and football, I am always in the majority.

So my question is for our ex pats who live in the minority, do you face racism and if so what sort, or, is it a British problem?

I certainly don't get any grief from the Spaniards.

To the contrary, it's usually Brits/Germans/Russians & Dutch complaining about the hopeless lack of urgency in the locals.

You can see every day why there economy is ****ed.

Won't say to much on this one....for a change...

But it's far worse in some countries.....where the colour of your skin determines everything..............

But we do try....and just like England there is good and bad...

Syd, Monmush......check out my new pics, to see that some try to intergrate......

Just think i was reffered to as racist last week................****ing cheek of some people, who know nowt.

No racism down here in sunny South Wales except when we play the in the rugby (25th of this month)...

The term that gets my goat is "banter"...under the terms of "banter" it would appear we can be offensive as possible but it's just "banter".

Its a term used by people as a 'get out of jail free' card to hide their racism, sexism or whatever other "ism" they are using. People who use the term should look a little more closely at what they say.

    I seen it mate.....ta.

But it's the old thing, of............What is Racism?

Different people view different things in different ways.....

A lot of do-gooder stick their oar in at things they think they understand, but in reality, havn't got a clue...............

Jocks, Paddies, Frogs, Eyeties, Spicks, all could be deemed in the same terms, yet they seem acceptable by most.................

To me it just seems an easy cop out...................

And we won't even start on the religion route................

I did say in my OP that I am well aware how easy it is for me to shout I am not a racist becuase of where I live, thats why I was intrested to hear it from the other side.

I am not an ex-pat, but nevertheless I am still in the minority in the area of London that I now live in.
