Mornin all, nutty past few days, hence I ahve not been on and I can tell my influence here is not what it used to be.... please log in to view this image
I noticed you had, how you you keep calm and measured is beyond me in the face of some of it!! I couldn't go on it as I am prone to lose me rag (a bit), I only lost my rag on here as it encroached onto a haven of relative sanity. There seems to be a lull in the season to me, probably because we're not in the CL or FA cup and it's hard to get truly revved up for the europa league. As we've nothing on this weekend though it would be wise to try to win handsomely tomorrow which would allow are perhaps more comfortable home leg before tackling Norwich away, which will not be a piece of cake by any means. Ahhhh, I remember the last time we played Norwich away in the PL. I was sat in a bar in Chaweng on Koh Samui, cradling a big cold Singha, having a lovely seven sweek sojourn in Thailand with my girlfriend and Alan Smith scored a wonderous goal on his debut (I think). He seemed a perfect fit back then, they were simpler times. Three kids later and things are far from simple!!
I just took one look at that thread and went "what's the point?". And this is me we're talking about here... I think I remember that match - didn't David Bellion score the other goal? Ah, to failures of old
It was throwback week for my hometown Memphis Grizzlies NBA squad. The Memphis TAMS were the original team in the old old ABA back before the merger. Stands for Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, the delta region I am proud to be from. And Bluff City is a nickname for Memphis. **** when I first started it was BluffCityRed-La Barba Roja
My memories from playing Norwich away was back when they were challenging for the league one year and we hammered them. I can't remember the score. As for keeping calm on that thread. It's actually because I find alot of the deflecting points to events from 20 years ago etc pretty funny. What alot of them don't realise is that it is THEM who is keeping the subject alive on these boards and then complaining about it
Welcome to the club - you're getting old! I was thinking along the same lines earlier today about it being a strange - sometimes really boring season. I don't think all of the interruptions at the start of the season did it any good at all. The season never really got going! To top that off-the-pitch issues - FIFA, Blatter, Suarez, Terry etc have detracted from the games themselves. Also the top of the league has been somewhat pragmatic. It's almost as though some of us are already thinking, "oh just let it be over" and start thinking of next season. Silly when you think that there is still a lot to play for and nothing is given for any of the top 7.
My lasting memories of playing Norwich goes way back to the mid 70’s. My mates we’re all going on a coach to Carrow Road, I was grounded, for what I can’t remember, and couldn’t go. Anyway it all kicked off down there, with the United fan’s getting on the roof , ripped it up and started pelting the Home supporters below with sheets of metal. I sat there Monday teatime watching all this coverage unfold on Granada Reports, my parents turn to me clip me round the ear, send me up to my room, shouting you’ll never see United again! FFS I wasn’t even there!
Is this weekend only FA cup games or are there prem games as well? Anyone else find the return of CL yesterday shockingly bad?
****ing hell I went to Norwich for a mid week game once, Milk Cup when I went bloody everywhere. We lost, Robert Fleck scoring the only goal and back home we went on another epic journey in the back of a van! It's the only time I've been to Carrow Road. (cue diadora to appear from under his stone saying Norwich isn't that far from Surrey)
