Some of you lads really him highly......what's going wrong? Some will say his attitude....is it? RYAN Noble has returned to the Stadium of Light after the end of his month-long loan with Derby County. Noble was restricted to just two appearances for the Rams during his stint in the Championship and wasnât even included in the matchday squad for last nightâs defeat to Reading. Derby had held talks with both Sunderland and Noble over a possible extension to the loan. But with Derby boss Nigel Clough unable to promise the 20-year-old (right) a regular spot, the Millfield-born striker has returned to Wearside. Clough said: âWe had a chat with Ryan on Monday and with Theo Robinson, Nathan Tyson and Steven Davies now edging towards full fitness after injury, we couldnât promise him a regular start. âHe has been great to have around the place and weâre as frustrated as him that his chances were limited during the month. âHad he been given permission heâd have played in the FA Cup against Stoke City and there was a good chance heâd have started against Forest too when it got called off because of the snow. âRyan has been really unlucky and he goes back to Sunderland with our very best wishes. Weâd like to thank Martin OâNeill for allowing him to spend some time with us.â Goalkeeper Trevor Carson is also back at Sunderland after the end of his month-long loan with Hull City, where he failed to make a single appearance. The likliehood is that Carson and Noble will return to the Football League on loan, although Sunderland boss Martin OâNeill will want assurances that both would play first-team football. Meanwhile, 18-year-old centre-half Louis Laing has extended his loan spell with League One Wycombe until the end of the season. Laing, who made his fifth appearance for the Chairboys in last nightâs defeat to Yeovil, said: âIâm very happy here. It means more games and more experience which is great. Iâve enjoyed my time here so far. I really like all the lads and the gaffer is perfect.â Wycombe boss Gary Waddock added: âItâs great that weâve been able to keep Louis for the rest of the season.â
i think it has to be something to do with training... the only thing i can tthink is that he doesnt put the effort in and that is why he isnt picked by three managers now
I'm not sure anything is going wrong, though I am biased as I know the lad quite well. I have always found him to have a really good attitude but like most young elite players gets frustrated with others quite quickly. I think he just needs a run in someone's first team. Reading the quotes from Son of Cloughie, he is happy enough with the lad I reckon he must be in MoN's thoughts as he wouldn't let him become cup tied - if he had doubts I think he would have allowed him to play. I think we need to get him out to someone for the rest of the season, rather than for a month but I think that will depend on the availability of the "established" forwards. Time will tell
He's just a young lad who I still have very high hopes for...I too have heard all kinds of rumours about his attitude, but rumours are all they are as far as I'm concerned..
Can see him going out on loan again probably to a league one club which wouldn't be a bad thing. Must be frustrating for the lad been out on loan three times and never got his chance, plus seems a bit injury prone.
From what I've read, he was down the pecking order because the other strikers were doing well. If your own lads are performing, why throw in a player on loan? I don't think Noble has done anything wrong. On another thread on here, someone was saying that he's met the lad and he's not got an attitude at all
I think it was a mistake sending him to Derby. They have 4 or 5 other strikers who play for the 1st team and a loan player was always going to struggle to get starts. He needs to be sent to a club who can guarantee him (and SAFC) that he will get regular starts.
Like others have said I dont read Cloughs comments and see a problem just game time. If he is to sit on the bentch then it my be best if its ours.
Clough doing the right thing, building his team around his own players. (One of my bugbears with Bruce was his reliance on loanees.) Noble went as cover, as all their strikers are now nearly match fit, there is no way he could expect a starting place.
Saw him play one full game in the reserves, and he looked like Raw potential, always confident and a gift for being in the right place at the right time, A real poacher of a player. Hope he starts getting some games somewhere to develope his skills further.
