It sounded like your first two goals were soft free kicks at best. And we should have had a peno. Sorry, but it sounded like the best side lost.

 

Oh right, I was listening on a dodgy stream so couldn't hear what Stringer said.

 

Gangsta, the "better" side lost - you should know that one uses the Comparative rather than the Superlative when only two sides are being compared - as in the "worse" side won, got 3 points and moved up to 15 position in the league, effectively ending the "better" side's chances of making the play-offs......

 

Sounds like we nicked that one so I can understand Leicester City feeling a bit sore.

 

The side who were best at finding the goal won, the team who played prettier football might have lost but as Watford have found many times unhappily pretty football does not win games. LCFC will win on Saturday so do not be too sad.

No need to start comparative and superlative with capital letters. You should spell out numbers 1-9.

Two deflections? Sounded like you were lucky finding the net to me. The ref helped massively too.

No disrespect to Watford, the match was never comfortable even at 2-1. But in a tight game, you rely on the ref to make the right decisions. he got it badly wrong (according to the radio).

 

Our commentator Jon Marks is very respected and rarely criticises referees. He believes that they have a hard job and thinks it unfair to be too hard on them. However tonight he was very critical of this one, describing his performance as bizarre. From what was said during the game Watford were getting the rough end of things from his decisions.

I guess we were all listening to different broadcasters who wear different coloured specs - but JM on Watford Player is noted as a commentator who tells it like it is - he commentates on matches all over Europe - and I'm quite happy to take his opinion, which is that the best team didn't lose.

 

A great, great win. Rode our luck at times, maybe, but three excellent points and another really good run of results . I can hold my head up high tomorrow morning in an office full of Foxes. Thank you Golden Boys!

Agreed, I won't make a finial decision until I see the highlights. But I can tell you now that on number of chances and possession, we were the better side. And two of your goals were deflected, I don't think even a "biased" commentator would get that wrong! We have had an incredible run of bad refereeing decisions. Hence two sending off decisions were overturned. Again, I'll judge finally when I see the highlights.
