    Great reading folks.

    For the record the title was taken by a mates piss take "PM" while claiming to be working but actually doing otherwise while inferring I was the slacker. The cheek of it! (If you snooze you loose you know who)

    To those that are in work, you're very lucky & well done while those looking good luck. To all others excluding retirees & those that are in poor health, get up off your backside & take a look in the mirror.

    Good fortunes been with me even through the hard times with the only interruption being redundancy, not dismissal in over 30 years.

    <ok>

    I worked for 30 years in the States and have lived and worked all over the UK. I (semi) retired early 5 years ago so NOT606 gives me a bit of company and some intellectual stimulation :emoticon-0110-tongu

    Have not received the dole or any benefits my whole life (except a student grant I suppose) and have a bit of a story about my only attempt to claim any. We used to be able to sign on between leaving school and going to university. I finished my A levels on a Tuesday (back in 1974 this was) and went to sign on the next day at Seaton Delaval dole office. Got a phone call from them on the Thursday and they told me to come for interview on the Friday morning. Went along and they offered me a job working there at that office for the summer, which I started the following Monday. I never got any dole money and so had a total of 3 days off after finishing school before starting work!!
