Are you illiterate, or just stupid? I just said that they wouldn't have gotten anywhere had Abramovich not gotten involved, same goes for any other mid-table club. As sad as it might seem, modern day football is all about the money. Breed great youth players? Be plagued by wage demands. Sad state of affairs.
Ragelol. I haven't been told to bugger off since I was 13 And Chelsea were doing fine before Abramovich - 4th in the league, comfortably qualifying for the CL with 67 points and with Lampard, Desailly, Hasselbaink, Zola and Gudjohnsen in the squad. Also the second highest revenue of any English club after Man Utd. In fact, ironically enough, doing better in the league then than they are now after Abramovich has ****ed the squad up by appointing endless managers and forcing them to buy "star" players...
Misread your post. Apologies. However, an instant cash injection is the only reason you lot became successful.
Wouldn't necessarily blame everything on Abramovich though. Right now, the squad is a mess, doesn't take a genius to see that, but with the right manager, everything could be different. Another thing to take into account is the transitional period AVB keeps rambling about. As crazy and absolutely clueless as he is, Chelsea is in fact going through such a period. Half of the squad is old, the other half is either too young, or not doing well in the mix. Honestly, I've lost faith in AVB and Torres both. A week ago, I would have defended Torres to the death. After Everton - Chelsea, I'm tired of seeing his sad little face.
Fair enough, but then Abramovich hasn't exactly helped things since 2007 imo. The squad is a mess cos he's brought in manager after manager, encouraged them to spend and then shunted them out the door. Your transitional period could've been over by now if you'd stuck with one man instead of chasing after every manager and player to have ever won a European trophy. And I can't believe that Abramovich is "flying in to have a word with the players" during a training session. If the Glazers ever tried to do that SAF would probably resign in disgust... You probably wouldn't have won three league titles without Abramovich, but then to say you were a mid table club without him is a bit much, and you could definitely have challenged for the league without his money in 2005 and 2006 when Arsenal and Utd were in a bit of a shambles. And are you really better off now with mercenaries like Cashley and Torres compared to great players like Zola and Gudjohnsen?
It was started by a Chelsea fan and he was looking to get some insight from United fans due to the fact he played for you before Madrid, no need to be a ****.
