I doubt that Fergie is the most hated man in football. I suspect there are people in the game who are less popular, racists tend to have a hard time endearing themselves to certain groups.

    Still off topic: let's try this really simple question;

If after the events/misdemeanors named by LFC supporters on this thread (& remember they are all pre Suarez) if Liverpool's managers of the time had publicly suggested to MUFC that the said players should never play for the club again & be sold. (Now try very hard & be honest) what would your & in your opinion the majority of fellow uniteds fans response have been?

Now I point to the fact that your response on this thread as a defense has been to name a list of Liverpool players with similar misdemeanors I ask again, be honest. You'd have called them all hypocrites & told them to go f*ck themselves. So why are you criticizing us for the same response?

Again, I'm not saying Fergie shouldn't do what's best for his club including wind ups, just don't expect us to not respond negatively to his faux morality or laugh at his fans faster than light double standards.

Manchester United may be hated but it's probably for winning too much. That's OK with me.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. More than 20 years after you last got a sniff of a league title your club are still reviled by most neutrals.

Fair enough, many of us including myself at times get so engrossed in "winning" the argument that we lose sight of why we're arguing in the first place. Personally I find it sad that we as supporters can so quickly name so many players of the modern era that have adversely effected the two most popular clubs in football.

They sit at home counting their cash whilst us dickheads type abuse at each other and shout at our computer screens <laugh>

    Lol yeah.

Your name reminded me of a thought I had today. The situation with Suarez is very Like Cantonas: Now I'm not obviously calling Cantona a racist before anyone has a pop; I mean this:

Both players were/are clearly mental. Both seem to be extreme egotists.

    Both players courted controversy

Both players seemed to command a loyalty from their managers that left everyone baffled (including some within their own clubs)

    Morning All,

I see no-one has actually shown Fergie to be a hypocrite yet. Still flinging around old events and trying to bend them to make them look like he is. Can I see the point about where he doesn't get involved in Giggs or Rooney's private life equates him to hypocrisy. That is one of the better ones.

But seriously, someone show me where a player lied to him, acted against the wishes of the club, and remained a United player.

Then this article might make a valid point.

Is it just me? I just want to get this season over and done with. I'm part embarrassed by the Suarez affair, part furious at the way he is being treated and absolutely furious at Slur Alex sticking is boat into our affairs publicly, a club he publicly despises. He realizes that Suarez may be our Cantona and wants him out.....of course he does.

Kenny disappointed me the other day, I can understand why he feels like he does, this has been a public execution with a kangaroo court but he should of risen above that. However, Fergie has reacted badly to questions before hasn't he? Tell me, what was the press reaction then? I just don't get this love in with him. Still apologies have been made and we move on, right? Wrong. The press will continue with this for the remainder of the season, at least

Our boards will be full of idiots on a mission to wind us up and every conversation I have at the pub starts and ends with the Suarez issue.

Worse, I have lots of international colleagues and to a man, they all comment negatively on the Suarez affair. It's been handled poorly, form start to finish and now, it seems, beyond.

But no mention from anyone, anywhere of Cantonas kung Fu kick or whiter than white Ferdinands drug cheating or Mr. Clean Giggsy incest or Slur Alex's racehorse greed or even the untouchable, Evra himself and his **** stirring that made him loathed by every football loving Frenchman across the channel.....but this is the club that the papers hold everyone up to? **** that.

Let me make this clear; I support Suarez, but have to do it in silence. The press have positively discriminated to get a storyline and the FA have responded in kind. IMO, Suarez was guilty of being an average footballer = Stupid and naive. More so after the handshake affair. But to allow others to drive a good player away from our club is, well, beyond the pale!

Just to be clear here, I have no tolerance for racism, my father is English, my mother is not and I can tell you that it wasn't fun growing up on army estates with a 'different' mother. If Suarez is undeniably proven to be a racist, i'd open the door and boot him out myself.....

So I don't care about silverware or 4th placed finishes, I won't be making my third and fourth trips to Anfield this season and I'm not sure if I really want to keep logging onto here to hear the ****e spouted by all and sundry (although i'm quite addicted!)....I just want the season to end and this feeling to go and to start afresh next year, when, hopefully, the hacks who seemingly cannot get a story out of Anfield so they make it up, have another target in sight.

I fear, though, that this has opened a can of worms and there may be a long painful death for more than one party concerned.

    An admirable stance <ok>

However, none of the events you have discussed make Ferguson a hypocrite for his words after the game.

Semantics Tucker: fergusons words after the game are an insistence that LFC take a moral stand over the misdemeanors of one of their players. A stance that all those players/events listed above involving his own team he failed to take himself. (not going into this is worse than that: let's settle for bringing shame on the club that paid you & was loyal to you shall we)

Ergo: ferguson is pretending to take a moral stance or attitude which he does not really hold: textbook definition of "a hypocrite"

Being obtuse for arguments sake shows limited intellect mate.

You know how stupid you look trying to claim the moral high ground and attacking SAF when LFC and Kenny have defended a racist to the hilt.

SAF was completely justified to make those remarks. Suarez is a disgrace to English football and so are Liverpool fans.

My name is Ivor and I have a big gun.

Seemed pretty straightforward to me but obviously it caused some confusion to you.
