Folkestone abandoned folks so just Ayr over the jumps and Southwell on the flat to go at today. Don't forget to show your other half plenty of love and affection on valentine's day “Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.” A few fancies at Ayr: In the 1.50 Scoglio is taken to follow up his ready success at Wetherby with another victory here. Dave Robert's charge was felt good enough to contest the Triumph Hurdle trial at Cheltenham in December but proved no match for Baby Mix and Hinterland. However his is clearly well regarded and absolutely bolted up at Wetherby with a mixture of fluent jumping and speed. The 3rd that day, Red Inca, ran a decent race at Musselburgh the other day and I think the form looks decent. The danger is Nicky Richards Find A Key who looked like giving Lexi's Boy a real fight at Ayr on hurdling debut before the McCain runner got the better of him. He may have to give second best again today though as Scoglio looks more of a finished article. In the 2.20 we have David Pipe's only runner and the distance from Nicholshayne to Ayr is a tip in itself - The Tracey Shuffle should make the long journey pay off. In the 2.55 Dancing Dik looks a likely winner if he doesn't "bounce". Ran a cracker last time out after a 20 month absence to finish 4th on chasing debut behind Lie Forrit and Blenheim Brook and that looks very decent form. In the 3.25 Buffalo Bob could be worth a small investment and nice odds. 2 of his 3 career wins have come on heavy (the last off a mark of 126), he has the visor on today for the first time and off 120 he can certainly get involved. Best of luck everyone
Grand National weights are announced today to much celebration and fanfare in London. I will probably have one look down them and then return to Cheltenham study. I'm afraid the Grand national commands little attention from me until the proper racing is over.
Morning Zen - my sentiments exactly for the Grand National. I assume Pricewise put up Vulcanite for the Supreme? As low as 12/1 now. Did he also meniton Midnight Game? That one seems to have shortened as well with no other news around.
Oddy beat me to it, Dancing Dik wins today, part owned by the bloke where my daughter goes riding, very confident today
Oddy, you have it spot on. I haven't read the article yet but the tips are Vulcanite (20/1) and Midnight Game (14/1). Needless to say, there's none of those prices left hanging around!
If they're plunging on Vulcanite the bookies could've lengthened Tetlami a couple of points for me 20/1 was probably a bit high but still can't see Vulcanite reversing the form with Tetlami.
16s best price avail Nass- only one winner of that race my friend - but you still say he will not stay
Sorry mate I just happened to have Oddschecker open Midnight Game pushing for favouritism in the Supreme in some books
Is B365 one of those with 16/1 on offer? RV, Chap seems to be entered up over the week/end, there is a 2m4 race that he surely has to go for? Then I would suggest Aintree is the way forward. He won't stay in a stupidly fast Foxhunters at Chelts will he?
No chance of that horse winning the Supreme Novices imo Nass I will have a look at Chap weekend entry - he is a class act. I think he would stay tbh . Yes 365 are offering 16s
If Midnight Game and Trifolium both go to Cheltenham I will be interested to see which one Davy Russel chooses - I'd be on Trifolium every time, I think Midnight Game's form is debateable to say the least.
Two entries on Friday. One over 3m at Fakenham and the other over 2m4f at Sandown - please send him to Fakenham Mr Nicholls (I bet he still trains it on the sly). Odddy Trifolium is my bet if he runs
Morning chaps - hope you are all well. Do we know when B365 NRNB kicks in? About 2 weeks before the festival would be my guess?
Nass - re Red Inca. Thought O'Regan gave him a VERY (overly) patient ride on Saturday, but he was obviously a little green. Ran on well to take 4th under hands and heels, and would definitely be one for the notebook.
