To wake up and find out it's still 1990. £5 to get in on the terraces. Back in the good old 2nd div with lots of cheap days out to various grounds around the country.

Man we didn't know when we were well off.

Cricket gives me some of that now, but T20 might do for that, too.

He also said that they knew there would be a dip in cashflow in November, December, January and were expecting funds injected from CSI - what they weren't expecting was Antonov being arrested.

A lot of companies have cashflow dips and rely on borrowing to cover those periods. Pompey were expecting the funds from their owners.

I don't think there is much doubt as to what went on at Pompey and how they got the newly found fame and fortune. Having hind sight is a wonderful thing as is having intuition. When your club is apparently doing well why on earth would you consider where the money is coming from, or how the hell they were managing to pay the top class players they had. If you look at that scenario truthfully............There ain't a fan alive that would have given a toss! You can't take it away from them.... they won the cup. They have however paid a very high price for the privilege. You should not in all honesty be taking it out of the fans. Yes you had a few of them gloat and laugh at our own demise and perhaps you shouldn't wonder at the reversal of feelings when the boot is on the other foot. I just think that for all that rivalry and often bitterness I still, as a dog lover, cannot kick a dog when it is down. I may be different to a lot of you because of my past ties with Pompey and my still many Pompey mates. There comes a time though when enough's enough and some of the vitriol that goes around seems to be out of place. I just feel that is where we are at, at this moment in time.

Cheers Beds. I'm off to read some HG Wells, if I just read between the lines......

I'm going to push the lever down, not up.

Too true. I'd be 22 years younger, with more hair on my head and less in my ears! And we'd be in the top Div<ok> As for cricket- not too shabby today, eh?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Sussex would be crap again.

    I can't win!

Stick around Brecon, you are sorely missed from the old days!

1990, when things were slightly less complicated, but if we're being nostalgic I want to go back another 10 years, when the summers seemed warm & the winters cold. Banks saved money & children played in the street (peado's either didn't exist or weren't talked about).

No doubt that if Pompey went under (which I doubt they will) then the majority of their fans will blame us...probably for not 'sticking up' for them... <doh>

Oh, take a chance and push it forward a couple of years. You can always come back. Unless you've read the authorised sequel, written by Stephen Baxter. Then it's dodgy. ;)

Oh Rickie - you're being paranoid.

Before the Hull game (which was called off) a fair number of Saints fans went on to the News site and offered to attend in support - in their Saints colours - and asked if they would be welcome. You would have been surprised by the response - the Pompey fans were a bit surprised at first but the response was very positive. Many were saying meet us in XXXX pub and come with us, we'll make sure you'll be fine, there won't be any trouble.

I think there was just 1 poster who wasn't keen - all the others were impressed and grateful for the show of support.

Not everyone is like the kids you knew when you were 14.

    Very true 3rd eye.

I really do feel sorry for real fans like yourself.

It's the tw**s that I laugh at, and that will moan about us/blame us.

Yes - but you can't allow twonks to call the tune. Who cares if they blame you? Did you cause these problems? No. In the same way that I don't care what some of the posters on here say - their opinion has no impact on me or my life.

I do value empathy though - that's special.

-10 points will be the least of your worries. Your current directors and chief executive are looking out for the best interests of the football club. When the Administrators are in charge, they are looking at the interests of the creditors only - they could easily start releasing players, selling assets etc. Thats the big problem with administration not the points deduction (though that doesn't help)

will they be able to "sell" any players as we're outside the window. Players can be released on mutual agreement and the loan window is still open.

They don't have a big squad as it is. If they lose a couple of their better players I don't see them staying up. Then a few others leave and................

sorry didn't mean to be a doom monger. Its just many people seem to be taking administration with a pinch of salt. I was just pointing out there is more to it than just the points.

Players can have their contracts terminated at any time.

Until they receive their overdue wages the players could hand in their notice as it is. I feel that these players who have openly stated their intention of standing by the club are showing a true sense of camaraderie and team spirit. If the fans can show up in force I honestly believe that they can pull their way out of trouble. Won't be easy but they still have the time to manufacture and escape from the abyss drawing ever nearer.
