Just to lighten the mood up a little bit I thought I would ask all my fellow Jacks what they think should be our away kit for next season.

Bluebirds should stop reading now if you are easily downhearted and depressed that the Swans are head and shoulders better than you.

Seeing as imitation is the most sincere form of flattery and our team is trying to emulate the formula of Barcelona then I would humbly like to suggest that next season we adopt as our away kit the burgundy and blue made famous by Barca. There have been numerous pundits, managers and fans of other teams that have been complimentary of our playing style this season and recently when we played Sunderland away on soccer saturday on Sky Jeff Stelling anounced they were going to the Stadium Of Light where Sunderland were playing Barcelona. Praise from the big man himself.

Some of you may disagree and I value all your opinions my fellow Jacks but please hear me out. We would not be the first team to do this. Don Revie had Leeds United change their home kit just so they could look like the mighty Real Madrid, that's how impressed he was with them.

Closer to home, recently perennial Wembley bridesmaids Cardiff City have followed suit too. In light of the stark realisation that in football terms they are light years behind their illustrious Premier League neighbours Swansea City they have decided to adopt an all white away kit to try and imitate the Swans. Quite incredibly the feel good factor their players feel wearing an all white away kit has helped Cardiff City to reach another losing Wembley final. The hoofball remains but not to such a great extent and in one recent game they are alleged to have strung together 4 consecutive passes.

To conclude, some may want red, some black ,some yellow, no one in their right minds would want blue. I hope that I've won a few of you, over as you can see it has worked wonders in the past and present for other teams as I have just mentioned. Our opponents know already they won't get much of the ball as it is and the sight of the Swans wearing Barca colours away from home might just tip them over the edge psychologically and also lift our players too.

I look forward to hearing your opinions.

I demand, seeing as how we've already gone orange, a return to the old school multi-colour jobbie!

If not, I like the Barca idea. We've not had a settled away shirt for a while, so why not? I did like the black and green striped "camo" kit... apparently it was hard to see our wingers from the other side of the pitch, difference is we knew they were there!

That's the shirt I wore to Wembley when we played (and won) against Huddersfield. I've been wondering for years what bugger knicked it

    Good thread Dilli. <applause>

You are naughty though. Leave our neighbours alone. I always do. :)

I hate the away kit. I know we've used orange before but it sucks and I really don't know (or am ignorant of) any connection with Swansea City. Maybe that's just my opinion, don't know.

I like the idea of Barca but it's so identified the world over with that fantastic Club. I'm sure you're tongue in cheek. I don't think you can go wrong with all black. That way, either white or black and it'll never clash.

Scott. That's a howler. I remember it though. I had the one with the rubber logo on the front from the oil company, wasn't Gulf though. Now what was it?

what he was actul;ly doing was buying a grade of petrolium that was failing the quality control of the bigger companies,so he was able to buy it for a cheaper price, very much like buying stuff from second city, if one item was sub standard then the whole batch would be rejected,if i remember correctly that was his thing. He started off with one garage on his his car lot then grew from there.

    Great thread Dill.

Not a bad idea also. Do like the idea, as the Orange shirt just doesn't do it for me. Maybe the one Phil posted as I too liked that shirt, the nicest away shirt we've had for years.
