It has been confirmed Michael wants to add to his future in Mercedes for another year after his 2012 deadline.

You will probably agree that Michael has a very fine tuned physique and mental ability.
Michael's personal doctor stated "He is so fit, he could drive until he was 50!"

It seems the willingness to stay beyond 2012 and drive for a year longer is because of the Mercedes new found speed over testing.

Anyway, you decide, this is the article,

Schumacher wants more? Haha! - Well, at this stage it that's exactly what I'd expect of him, having further influenced the design philosophy to pander to his whims. But in spite of this, I still expect him to get further loss of his over-inflated reputation at the hands of Rosberg.

Really, do you believe that a 1 season where Rosberg beat Michael shows that Rosberg is a better driver?

Seriously mate, you have to have an open mind when discussing this, accumulate all the disadvantages Michael had against Rosberg then tell me Rosberg is better than Michael.

I can see Rosberg getting his arse handed to him and then proclaiming at the end of the season that he always knew Michael was better. What did Rosberg do that was so fantastic?

He only finished two places ahead of him at the end of the season and the double points were awarded mostly because of Michael's mechanical problems at the start of the season.

I am glad he has stayed in F1, a clean slate and all the preparation he needs to get a good start to a season in a fantastic team. It shows he has the guts, to put his body on tht line to prove who he is and what he can do at 42 years old (being the oldest man on the grid).
    Remember that.

Terry Downes famously said of his victory over a 41 year old Sugar Ray Robinson "I didn't beat Sugar Ray, I beat his ghost". For me the same applies here, Rosberg is a decent driver approaching his best, Schumacher's best years are behind him. Nico will come out on top again. The only way I see Schumi beating Nico is if the Mercedes is a title contender and Nico struggles to deal with the pressure.

Im sure Nico's focus isnt on schumacher only though. I think he has his eye on beating Seb Vettel

Hey MannyF1SCM: nothing to get so uptight about here! I just have a very different view of Schumacher to you and this is a public space to state one's opinion.

I'm forgetting nothing. The fact that Rosberg didn't do anything particularly special actually reinforces my point doesn't it? Rosberg is good but he's not really in the top clutch of drivers; yet still he beat the guy who needs the whole team including any pandering team-mate to give him every imaginable advantage.

Schumacher was good when he arrived on the scene, but once Briatore got hold of and influenced him, most of his achievements are little more than exaggerated statistics.

I know your view. Now you know mine too. I hope for your sake that your hero gets all the advantages he needs; but I hope for the sake of F1 that the playing field remains relatively level.

    Enjoy your season… ;)

I sincerely hope so. To do otherwise would simply help pressurise a distortion and an over-inflated ego. He was brought down to where he belongs last season: on a level playing field. And if it stays that way - in spite of what's been happening with Mercedes' development for most of his present tenure - I hope he remains in F1 as long as possible.

It'll help a largely ignorant public appreciate something closer to the truth.

Who ever finishes Higher out of MSC and Rosberg I don't think the gap will be that big. Rosberg is pretty good at grinding results out and I'm sure everyone knows what MSC is capable of when on form. Should be a good battle to watch.

It will be a very tight battle, they have similar driving styles. I agree that the gap will be very tight, but I am sticking with the idea of Michael beating him, but hey... no hard feelings ;)

personally, I see the situation between the two of them being little different to last year, although maybe the car will be better.

There were many changes made to the car last year, which were ostensibly made to improve the car towards MSC, but Rosberg maintained his advantage, and I do not think enough has happened for the status quo to change.

I would add, that MSC should not be discounted, but then neither should Nico.

[/COLOR]Well, well just a few familiar names on here and I see the subject matter has not changed nor have the opinions, it seems we still have some educating to do Cosi.

Maybe the Pirelli Sprint sessions will suit MS better but no better than NR and certainly not more than LH or SV or even Fandango

I think Schumi is going for the 'oldest' records as well, hasn't he had enough?!?

Anyway, it will be a good battle for the second year running, but the tyres and wing changes are going to make it a lot more difficult, and will probably show more where drivers are better than others at other tracks (high tyre wear to low tyre wear tracks, in comparison with their driving style). It is a completely clean slate, especially this year, so looking back at last year is pretty irrelevant in this Rosberg v Schumacher battle.

Well, Well new to this [not606] but some old familiar sounding names and subject matter and steadfast opinions, it appears we still have some educating to accomplish Cosi.

It will be interesting to watch MS remain behind his team-mate for yet another year, I doubt if he is capable of overhauling Nico, the circumstances have changed equally for all drivers, so why MS would, for some unknown reason, suddenly appear quicker than Nico escapes me.

Also the Pirelli Sprint events will favour the likes of LH SV and Fandango rather than MS
