can see Philip Brown being on the short-list, his tan would match the shirts so well. Really can't see yet another chairman/board/owner seeing warnock as the solution - as what is the question if he is the answer.

Am not up to date with the TWS situation but aren't they considering letting Redfearn have a go?

There really arent that many creditable available managers out there. I wouldve said Di Matteo but his WBA links may stand in the way, although the oppoosite didnt stop Andrews yesterday (I had no idea he'd gone there btw).

Zola? Ince played there or Steve Bull as a leftfield choice? Always amazes me that George Graham is still out of work....

He was also a Leeds fan when growing up like most people in Barnsley. I'd still prefer Warnock, mind.

I imagine they'll want someone with experience in a relegation battle. Iain Dowie on line one...

never liked McCarthy he comes across as a bit sloooow.
but its a shame for him as he has done really well for Wolves , i think its a bit sad that the board wont back him to the end of the season regardless of lge position.

wasnt it him that took sunderland down with hardly any points? and yesterday wasnt just about losing 5-1, it could and really should have been 10-1...about as shambolic defensive display you will ever see...only going one place with him in charge im afraid...which wouldnt bother me as ive never liked wolves for some reason, just one of those teams ive always had an unexplainable dislike for.

They got mullered yesterday. And the Liverpool game the other week, a similar collapse.

I think he's done alright really. Got them there, kept them there...it's tough.

I think the nature of the WBA and L'Pool defeats have sped this up. Who else is around to the reigns? Who, currently out of work, really needs to run the risk of relegation from the Prem?

    Oh yeah, Dowie.

ROY KEANE would shake them up. Far to many slackers in the Wolverhampton squad from where i sit. Then again as Fraser would say...."""""DOOMED, THERE DOOMED, DOOOOOOMED I TELL YA"".

I doubt either Warnock or McCarthy would be happy to have Master Bates twisting their nuts.

both would appeal to Bates as they will be cheap after there PL pay offs and with a point to prove. it will also be very ironic IF DQPR still got relegated even after all the Cash that Hughes has spent. would lmao at that one.

I don't buy this talk about Wolves's squad being so awful. Hammill, who we were really excited about signing, doesn't even make their bench and Hunt who was one of our best players in the PL is only making the bench. They have a very good squad but the thing with the PL these days is, so does everyone else. It's an incredible standard now, there isn't one team with a particularly weak squad but 3 will have to go down.

Warnock's had his nuts twisted by Simon Jordan and Flavio Briatore, and publicly admired Bates' chairmanship style in his newspaper column midway through last season (for some unknown reason). He also practically salivated at the Leeds job when he was quizzed about it by the Independent and then Talk Sport. So I don't think Bates is an obstruction to him coming.

His assistant was at Elland Road on Saturday and it's being speculated that it's only a matter of time before he comes due to having to tie up this compensation dingdong with DQPR ( << see how I'm fitting in nicely! :) )

Yeah, incredible standard as demonstrated by the 2 runaway best teams being knocked out by such european superpowers. Napoli are 7th....

I was obviously talking about the general standard across the league (which is way better than anywhere else in the world) not just the top teams. Even if I was talking about the top teams, yes the PL is still a lot better than Italy; only Inter have achieved anything of note in the last few years, and even then they had Mourinho which is practically cheating <laugh> You can't say that because they were knocked out of a competition this year we must have a **** league. Fact is English teams have dominated the latter stages of the CL for the last 5 years or so. Teams like Real and AC Milan have failed for years but people still say they are good.

I don't know why you're so obsessed with telling us how awful English football is.

You fancy listing the nationality of the Champions League winners since the invention of the Premier League and how that compares to other European nations?

People go on about English domination. I give you 3 winners in 19 years.

The mistake English Clubs make in Europe is buying players instead of refs.

Of course, a team winning a European competition doesn't necessarily mean their leagues any good. Celtic and Rangers play in a few European games and Scottish football ain't all that by anyones standards.

No suprise, the writing was on the wall after their result yesterday. Can see McCarthy going to Leeds, Warnock, Bruce or Zola at Wolves.

It seems that Curbishley is high on the list.

He's already kept Charlton and West Ham up(Charlton on many occasions) when the odds were against him and he's an excellent manager.
