Well yes, he used it to make a strong point about Suarez.

Liverpool are a big club, with a big reputation and a big history - and Suarez's act contradicted the values and wishes of the manager, managing director, owners and sponsors - to no gain or benefit and only result in potential worse relations in future Liverpool v United games.

Calling him a 'disgrace to Liverpool Football Club' was a strong remark, but he is entitled to his opinion.

However, he should not have stated how he would handle it (i.e. by getting rid of him). That is overstepping the mark. And, in reference to the OP, it still doesn't make him a hypocrite.
