Its that time of the season again - crunch time

Discussion in 'Arsenal' started by Jayram_Football, Feb 13, 2012.

  1. Our form suggests that we wont win the games listed as must wins, but in order to get 4th I think we have to win them - hence crunch time.

In your quest for 4th, you must have been pleased with your friendly neighbours recently, taking points off Liverpool and Newcastle in our last two games.

    Well you are very welcome.

However, the plus for us (as a couple of others stated) is that we almost have a starting 11 available! Not our ideal starting 11 obviously but the best we've had available for a daaaaamn long while. I think your initial list is definitely possible and I'd be delighted with that.

Stop crying and get lost. You'd think you would be happy at the moment with your league form, instead of posting drivel about last year.
    ------

If the thoughts and feelings of Arsenal fans is drivel to you then why are you on here? I was only pointing out how quickly peoples views change.

I am very much in agree ment with this. It runs deep through everything. Every game we get told that so and so havent won against whoever for X seasons, like it has some bearing on the game. Fans get their hopes up or get negative for no reason.

I think going unbeaten through this stretch is a big ask.

  7. I am taking a guess that you are not an Arsenal fan - and your whining about what people thought last year is indeed drivel

Actually you are already 4th - so keeping up the 1.75 points per game might well be enough, unless Chelsea suddenly remember how to play.

We are 4th so our form suggests that we can get 4th.

  10. Assuming Chelsea dont pick up - or Liverpool.

I don't think 65 points will get 4th, which is where our current form will take us.

I'm still waiting for Man Citeh's titanic collapse. it's bound to happen. Maybe 3rd is possible, providing we keep winning, and they suffer an inevitable collapse.

If we keep up our current form and the teams around keep up theirs it would mean us getting 4th place

  14. Yep, but dont think that will happen. As I said I do not think 65 points will be enough.

If all the teams around us stay to their current form then 65 points will be enough

  16. Yes I already agreed with that, and said that i dont think 65 points will be enough (i.e. one of the 4 teams fighting for 4th will put a run together). I hope its us.

AC Milan were a dead team last season .. if you haven't seen them this year they are markedly different.

As for finishing 4th, I said City would flop come winter, but they are grinding out results annoyingly. I wasn't sure about Spurs but there seems to be no sign of them letting 3rd place go - St Totterigham's Day probably won't come this season :(

Chelsea are pap, no need to worry about them <laugh> Liverpool are more dangerous because they can defend.

On the face of it that seems daft - but it would be a lot of laughs if it comes true <laugh>
