Kenny has improved us and im not bashing him but the owners stated that it would be a massive dissapointment if we failed to get into the CL,

also the fact he is on a 3 year deal means it would be relatively cheap to pay him off.

all combined with the suarez case it all points towards the chop come the end of the season.

I think it's highly unlikely that he will go because he has made a difference. The recent events haven't helped our cause but hopefully we can move on now and evade the negative press for a little while.

In the Carling Cup Final, still in the FA Cup and within touching distance of 4th so it's not all doom and gloom. But a massive improvement is needed. After such an encouraging start to the season, we look defensive and out of ideas. We finally have suarez back but looks completely isolated when playing as the main striker.

And Lucas is a big loss. Since he has been out, the opposition have gotten in behind our midfielder on so many occasions.

I think he will get another season at it if we fail to do so this year as it was a tall order with Spurs' squad and citeh's billions.

He is taking us to Wembley and if we overcome Brighton we're in the QF of the FA Cup as well.

13 games to play and 4 points of 4th, if i'm completely honest I would have said we'd be further back than that at the start of the season. Next league game is against Arsenal - that is one we really need to step up for. If we win the Carling Cup then confidence will be sky high for this game.

this is so obviously a wum.

    1. newbie status.

    2. offensive title "Will John W Henry out Kenny?" with clear contiations towards exual orientation. a classic wum tactic, do the wind up in the title

    3. pretend to be a red, then say your not bashing the manager then proceed to deliver the coup de grace... we should sack him.

Actually Dr Dirk is a decent poster on this forum. There are question marks hanging over Dalglish's and Suarez's heads at the moment, mainly thanks to the media/press bullshit. So it understandable that some people will be asking these questions.
Personally I think it will come as quite a shock if Kenny were to get the sack now, especially as he has the backing of the players and the fans.

Teams need to stick by managers if they want to build success.

Look at the mess at Chelsea. They should nave never sacked Ancellotti.

Dalglish has handled this whole situation badly but to be fair he has been shafted by Suarez. Last Wedneday evening the club issued a statement confirming that Suarez would shake Evra's hand presumably after laying down the law to Suarez and instucting him to play ball. What happened? Suarez in his petulant way decided to shun Evra. Dalglish when interviewed after the game did not realise that Suarez failed to shake Evra's hand and then came up with some rubbish defending his player. Had he known he would have been better prepared; hence the apology.

Suarez has a lot to answer for and has brought the club and the game into disrepute. He should be released at the end of the season. And Liverpool did pretty well without him. Dalglish should be reprieved. There is no point is sacking him although he has not come out of this whole episode with any credit.

They should have looked at a long term replacement when Mourinho went instead of dithering from manager to manager, looking for constant quick fixes.

JWH & FSG will let Kenny see out his contract and then look for another manager. do things properly. I think Kenny will announce at the beginning of his 3rd year that this year will be his last meaning we can have a nice long drawn out proper search for a manager, Kenny will have no pressure in his last season and his contract will finish in a way which will not affect his legacy

Hopefully. Maybe a bit harsh, but he should at least be moved back into the role he was in before management.

Notwithstanding the cocksocket loitering on this thread (waves to LETTUCE), I'd like to see Rafa back at Anfield when Kenny decides to call it a day.

Not sure about Klopp, while he is young, he's been managing for a while and only had one season of success. And I'd have issues with a manager whose middle name is Norbert!!!<laugh>

I think if we don't get 4th then there is a risk of Kenny going. And that is Henry's fault for his rhetoric at the start of the season. he shouldn't have said anything at all about expectations, it's not the Liverpool way!

What gets me about this is how fickle people can be. And this is in defence of Rafa too. No-one here can tell me who is responsible for buying all the British players this year, everyone says Kenny has the final word, but if the owners and/or Camolli have a vision of a team that meets FIFA or UEFA's rules on home grown players, then what we bought was not a bad selection. The fact that not many have come good right out the blocks should not be a sackable offence. Carroll was banging them in for Newcastle, Downing was better than Ashley Young at Villa, Adam was a revelation for Blackpool, and Henderson was the best young thing at Boro. Now some people did admit to not rating some of these players, and were very vocal about better and cheaper non-British players, but if British was the clubs ethos, then Kenny did well. The fact that they just haven't performed in Red is sickening, but can we say that it is all Kenny's fault? Would Kenny have paid the money we paid for Carroll and Hendo? I personally doubt it, but I don't know either, so with nothing to go on, why should I be calling for anyone to be sacked? So I won't. Some people missed the point of my post "sack de lorra dem" as a frustrated call for heads, it wasn't, it was a call for a debate on how we can't distinguish who if anyone might be to blame, so how can anyone call for anyone to be sacked?

Personally, I hope the great British experiment is over, and we can just buy the best players we can get, but I don't want to see wholesale changes made in the summer either. I think the current squad can come good, and unlike previous years, I don't have a list of deadwood that needs cutting, Kenny did all that last summer, (which people tend to forget) So maybe one or two in and out, but not wholesale and let the players bed, and let the manager do his job.

The owners seem reasonable enough to take all things into consideration when assessing whether Kenny is the right man to leads us after this season ends. If he has had little say in transfers then they're hardly going to castigate him for poor signings...

I can honestly see them getting rid of Kenny if we don't get top 4. The revenue it generates in undisputed and can't be made elsewhere. Another reason is the potential availability of Mourinho. He would be the type of manager to entice the board in the summer. I don't want any of this to happen but stranger things have happened.

Hendo is also doing very very well. Much better than Downing. I don't think our signings have been that bad. Carroll need to stop hitting the woodwork (his goal return would be pretty decent had those have gone in. Henderson is showing real signs that he is going to be a fantastic talent. Adam is quality in fits an spurts (worth the £7m paid) Enrique has been brilliant as has Bellers... Downing has also been played out of position a lot too. Why Kenny insists on playing him on the right is beyond me.

StanChart have said that CL qualification doesn't bother them as their clientèle are asleep when we play CL games so there is no pressure from that standpoint (although I think they'd like us to sign an asian player) but I think FSG would like us to get top 4 as it brings in the dollars... and opens up those partnering revenues that FSG and Ian Ayres absolutely love.
