Q..Discounting the Gloucester Cup, 1) When did the first truly BRISTOL derby take place, that is when they both had BRISTOL in their titles for the first time, where was it played and what was the score..? 2) When was the first time they played each other in the FA Cup,where was it played and what was the score..? Same idea as massives quiz, follow up with a question of your own about Bristol City if you get both right..

Answers.... A) 13th April 1900....Southern League DIVISION 1.....BRFC won 1-0.....At Eastville... B) 27th November 1901....Bristol City won 3-2.....At Ashton Gate...
Are you sure about B wize? If my memory serves me right it was 3-2 to the Rovers; after a 1-1 draw when extra-time was played but abandoned after 116 minutes due to bad light. I think Connor and Cookson scored for you and 5,000 were there !!
Acccording to my little RED book, ' The Bristol City Miscellany ' page 71,under heading Derby Days,it does say played at Ashton Gate on 27/11/01 and City won 3-2 but they could've made a mistake 49nr...
My 'bibles' are the Breedon books. The City one is 'Bristol City. A Complete Record 1894-1987' David Woods with Andrew Crabtree. In fact in that year you beat Bristol East 5-1 in the previous round. To be even nerdier it says that on 19th Nov 1898 City played BRISTOL St George away in a qualifying round and won 1-0 ! In 1896 you lost to Bedminster 2-4, but obviously no Bristol in that name. Ditto beating Clifton 9-1 the following year. I could continue !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, that was good zzzzzzzz. Off the top of our heads.. try and come up with players that have worn the red shirt of City and that jester shirt of rovers.. ... I'll kick off as its my ball.... Danny Coles, Steve Phillips Shaun Penny...
Brian Williams (who wasn't too bad). Gary Emanuelle (who was really ****). Jason Roberts, Robbie Turner, Trevor Morgan....
John is a really nice guy, but he felt the rovers fans put his 'nose out of joint'. Donnie Gillies, Keith Curle and did Colin Gordon have any connection with rovers?
