I am hopeful of 3 points against Stoke so we can push on. Playing 4-2-3-1 with Pog up-front.

Blimey, if only we'd had a striker we might have won that one... no, wait a minute. We do and we did. Things are nowhere near as bad as some people are making out. Now Pog has got a fortnight to really bed in with the team and then put QPR to the sword. Bring it on.

    Captain good point.

Pog, was great for his first appearance. Run, tackled, showed no fear, was fouled many times by the dirty Stoke CB.

He is relative quick for a big guy and things looking promising. If he got injured, which I hope he is not, he has two weeks to recover.

    Come on Fulham!

Watching yesterdays game I was very impressed with the Pog, his
performance showed that he wanted to play for FFC. A good start.<party>

Yes, what I saw looked encouraging. Big and strong always helps, but he looks like he's got some skill, too.

Do you need a hug, Captain? ;)

I know that the negativity on this board winds me up no end, but ultimately those criticising do so out of a sincere desire for us to improve. And that same drive needs to be present in our players too. Let's be honest, the fire in Zamora had gone out and we haven't lost a lot by shipping him out (pains me to say that). Hopefully the Pog has that desire to prove himself fit and in form ahead of the Euros and that desire will spread through the team. We've not had a huge amount of passion on the pitch in the 18 months following our Euro run for whatever reason; we need to recapture that, whether it is through new players or shipping out those who are going through the motions, and we will be fine.

Of course, maybe I'm just the eternal optimist to balance out Valjing? :p

    It's been a long week!

If we can get 3 wins from the last 13 games, we'll be past the magic 38pts mark. I think we'll make it long before the end of the season. Our form for the last ten games is 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats - mid-table form, which is where we find ourselves. That's a lot better than the 'relegation form' that others have been banging on about.

There I go again - railing at the pessimists. I'm with you on the optimism stakes, Surly. Maybe it's better not to tell Mrs Captain about the hug offer, though. You know how jealous she can get!

Can I join in the group hug?

In a perverted way it's nice to see others are becoming tired of the relentless negativity and baseless criticism (not all of it is, mind), I'm the same and have been posting less because of it.

I'm feeling good after our win, Pog looks decent and looks like he gives more of a toss than Zamora, which can only be good. Also good to see Val's predictions are wrong, so we're not going to get relegated - phew! Ahem.

It's also been a tough week for me too (running theme here) so I apologise if any of my posts had an extra sense of cynicism, well any more than usual that is.

Critical games are against Wolves and QPR. Should we win those we open a gap from relegation and we push both those teams in the dogfight even more for the later stages of the campaign... But let's wait and see.

That's my approach from now on!

Been away - Very pleased with the result and that the Russian fellow scored. Nice to see a Fulham player get one on his debut - believe Healey was the last one, which was a few Seasons ago now. Think he was fortunate not to get Red Carded for his knee high lunge, mind. Didn't think we'd get anything out of that one. Then again I didn't think he would be playing hence my no proper striker comment prior to the match.

Anyhow, I notice people on here mentioning he got injured. What happened, that isn't on the highlights I have seen? Is he likely be out for a while? Was he carried off or limped off or what?

Didn't Montella also score on his debut, was that before Healy? Don't think it was Sanchez who brought him here so it must have been. The Wolves game could become tricky now that they've sacked Mick, which wasn't a great move in my eyes. Depending on who they get in, that one could well be a tun up for the books.

To be honest I give up predicting our results. Maybe now Professor Weeto is gone they'll be in (even more) disarray? Who knows.

Montella was a Coleman signing. I've often thought that his sending off against Spurs got Coleman the sack. He seemed to be finding form and match-fitness, then he got a four game ban and when he came back seemed like he was starting from scratch again in building up his performances. If he'd not had to miss those games, our form could well have picked up and we would have been spared Lawrie Sanchez. Then again, without Sanchez we'd never had had Roy. That just feels unthinkable, doesn't it?

It's safe to say that the dismal six months we had to endure with Lousy Sandwich was worth the two and a half years of ecstasy we had with Woy.
