To be fair to myself I'm usually patient with new signings and don't expect too much too soon. I just get this feeling with King though that he's way too raw for what we need at this moment in time. If he scores more than three goals before the end of the season I'll be shocked. That's being generous as well.
^^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Cannot believe anyone being this negative about a young lad learning to play the game. Love the stupid comments about him by the "Experts". I'm sure Manchester United's academy and reserves are full of kids with "Donkey Feet"
**** me here we go again. You can't have an opinion on here without being called a plastic. Strov you need to get a grip. I expect it from Tickler but this is a forum for discussion and debate. I am always 100% behind the boys and very rarely post negative stuff about our team. If I want to say I don't rate King I will, that doesn't make me a plastic. FFS.
Sorry, but just where have I said you are a plastic? Where have I said you cannot have an opinion? You can have an opinion on anything you like and you can make a post about it, as long as the mods are fine with it. But if you post an opinion be prepared to be disagreed with, otherwise don't bother posting.
King is ****e! There really is no need for any debate on the subject. He can't pass, he can't beat his man, he can't shoot and he can't control the ball. Sounds like a bit of a problem to me.
Some players need more time than others to find their feet - look at Hobbs and McKenna. I don't think Man U. would have considered him if he didn't have something. Nick will be patient with King and when he does click with the team and the pace of this league he could be a good asset.
I don't think he'll ever quite be good enough for this level, he's never scored a goal in senior football, and his touch is dreadful. We're after promotion, we shouldn't be some sort of club for Man U players to learn the game, we've got youngsters of our own who never get a chance, play one of them instead.
If I have misunderstood you then I apologise unreservedly . The way I read it was that by doing that arrow thing with THIS in the middle you agreed with Tickler and his comments. To be fair I have never really understood what that means , it might be an I phone thing but it doesn't make much sense the way I see it. Those comments basically called anyone knocking King(which I was one) a plastic. I don't expect everyone to agree with me so will keep posting if that's alright with you but I don't get this calling people plastics for not thinking one of our players is very good. Amoo was at Liverpool and Akpan at Everton. Both very good PL teams but poor players. Just because King is at Man Utd doesn't mean he's going to cut it as a Championship footballer. IMO.
I was agreeing with Ticklers general sentiment rather than every word of his post, so I can see how you might think I was calling you a plastic. I apologise for that. However, I dislike the way people get on the backs of players who are in the same circumstances as Josh King is. One of the criticisms of him seems to be his "First touch". For Gods sake, have people not noticed how bad the KC pitch is at the moment??? Also the lad is not match fit which is a big thing with professional footballer's performances. Coming from the Premiership does not mean he will be a success with us and I am not saying he will. However, you do not get into Manchester United's reserves unless you are REALLY talented. So people should sit back and let the kid develop at his own pace. You can say you don't think he will be any good if you wish. For me, if Warren Joyce, OGS and Nick Barmby all think he will then I'll go with their opinion rather than yours.
King hasn't even played a full 90 minutes yet has he? He's obviously not 100% match fit so how anyone can predict that he's not good enough at this level is beyond me.. He hasn't had much time to adapt to how we play yet either... He's clearly got some talent so if he manages to fit into our squad then he might do alright. Definitely a little bit to early to write him off already isn't it?!?!
Personally think he might turn out to be quite useful for us. Kid in the headlights at the moment, but we can't abandon him. I predict a goal in the next 3 games, then he'll either kick on or not. I think he might be alright, I've seen the briefest of flashes to think there could be more. Just me like.
Er,im going to put myself up for ridicule here i suppose but hey,That's not Josh King is it ? The guy in the pic i mean.
In fairness all we've seen so far is pace. Amazing pace yes, but I can't remember him trapping a ball properly yet. No one is saying he will never be good, just that so far he hasn't shown anything to suggest he has 'talent'. If he turns out to have bags of talent then great we'll all be happy but we can't just pretend everyone has done well when they haven't. If McLean showed the kind of control King has done in his first few games just once everyone would jump on it and say he can't cut it at this level, but when it's King people are making excuses for him even when he hasn't looked anything like a talented player. Again, I'm not saying ther guy will never be good (nor do I think NFU or PB are doing), but that he hasn't looked anything like talented yet.
Just as a little reminder: " he's got donkey feet ffs, can't kick a ball straight to save his life" "There really is no need for any debate on the subject. He can't pass, he can't beat his man, he can't shoot and he can't control the ball." "I don't think he'll ever quite be good enough for this level,"
I think King's been average at best from what we've seen. No need to give up hope, but no need to **** over him and pretend he's the next big thing either.
