Well I don't expect a top 4 finish in the English Premiership for a few years yet and I don't think lawell does either....so I expect he will have budgeted for it Besides how many coefficient points does a DRAW get you
We're already having to play qualifying games to get into the CL so your "massive majority" of co-efficient points hasn't really helped, has it? And the way your team is going it would only make it worse if you got into Europe, Malmo? Maribor? They would be favourites if you met them next season.
So what. Most of those so called points that Rangers gained were done so underhandedly. UEFA will probably rip those points off you in any case even if you survive. You have to laugh at Rangers fans really. For years they were goading all the other clubs who had to cut their cloth accordingly in order to survive. Now the shoe is on the other foot (the left one) and it's ****in hilarious. Payback time Teddy Bears, payback time.
Aye, maybe England. Just imagine the possibilities we'd have, you know, actually existing and all. Then there's the attraction Celtic, minus Rangers, will bring. In fact, surely that's the selling point: NO RANGERS. Thus, it instantly becomes a much more worthwhile notion to entertain.
TV deal is on the basis of 4 OF games a season. No OF games means the deal will be void. I'm sure there would be a massive scramble between broadcasters for the rights to the SPL. Hope Celtic fans can understand Gaelic <BBCAlba>
Scottish Football has been on a downslide for years now. Maybe the likes of Rangers going belly up will be the shot in the arm it needs. Who actually knows? What I do know is; I couldn't give two ****s if Rangers don't exist come next season. Ta Ta Bears
You do remember that Celtic and rangers both came up with an idea for tv rights that would be run by themselves and not sky which would have raised more money....even Aberdeen agreed Wee teams just grabbed a quick buck
I'm sure this has all been taking into consideration by the Celtic board. After all, Celtic are a global brand unlike Rangers who have a small following in the west of Scotland and parts of Belfast. I have no doubt that a new deal would be struck with Sky and/or ESPN which would leave the remaining clubs no worse off.
Celtic earn 15 times more cash from ticket sales than TV. Obviously the crumbs we get from Sky are welcome but that's all they are - crumbs.
7 years ago....are you Harry in disguise? I pyoor remember wan time that youse were pumped oot a Europe.....
I wonder how many of the remaining clubs can survive losing half of their biggest gates of the season plus the lost revenue from reduced TV rights and sponsorship? Teams who haven't posted £180K profits? No product = no money.
Cash from the TV deal constituted a massive 3.16% of Celtic's income in 2010. Obviously for other SPL clubs, potential loss of the TV deal is a bigger issue but there's no reason to suggest they couldn't withstand it.
