Jack Wilshere has given *Arsenal a major boost with the speed of his recovery from his latest injury nightmare. The 20-year-old midfielderâs comeback from an ankle injury came to a shuddering halt after suffering a stress fracture in the same foot. Wilshere was ordered to rest for three weeks, but Arsenal have brought forward the date of his next scan to this week after making better progress than expected. If he is given the all-clear, Wilshere will step up his rehabilitation and could be back playing next month to boost his chances of making *Englandâs Euro 2012 squad. Meanwhile, Robin van Persie will go head-to-head against the man he looks *certain to succeed as the *captain of Holland. The Champions League clash between *Arsenal and AC Milan in Italy on Wednesday night puts Van Persie in direct *conflict with Mark van Bommel. Van Bommel currently wears the armband for *Holland but his appearances for the Rossineri have become *sporadic. And Arsenalâs hopes will be enhanced by their impressive record in their away matches against high-profile clubs. Indeed, they won 2-0 away to AC Milan four years ago and manager Arsene Wenger said: âIt was a great night because we stayed faithful to our game. âEven Milan said we were the better team.â http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...njury-sooner-than-expected-article863993.html
Do not want to get my hopes up regarding Wilshere's injury. In my mind I have him ruled out for the rest of the season and hopefully I will get a pleasant surprise.
I think he will be out till the end of the season. My worry with Jack is the fact he has had fractures in quick succession on both feet. Better to rest it now. I hope he doesn't become another Diaby.
Whats the point, they keep getting things wrong. Let the boy recover fully - speeding things up is a recipe for disaster.
Trouble is he's a player who is desperate to play for his country (rare these days I know) so he'll want to rush back so he can go to the Euros - he is young so should recover but I can see him playing in the Summer only to return to us crook again in July.....
He shouldnt be allowed to play in the Euro's - out for a whole season, then playing for England? he could hardly be viewed as a form player this year worthy of an England place. Still I think he will be picked and it would not surprise me if he did indeed come back crocked. Anyone remember Michael Owen for Newcastle?
Yeh taking everything into account i would just let him recover properly and have him fully fit for next season rather than rushing him back and he gets injured again. Being without one of our best players for the whole season has been a huge blow to us and it would be great if wilshere could return in april and play a few games for us and then go to the euros but we'll have to wait and see what happens.
How about Cashley ? couldn't be arsed with playing for the club that paid his wages, was crook for months then made a miraculous recovery for the 'shop window' Champions Lge Final and World Cup after spending most of the season whining about his new contract offer, meeting Chelsea officials and securing a move away from Highbury. Off topic I know....
I agree, completely different characters thankfully. The point was more around someone being out for months (and there were plenty of questions at the time as to whether he was really injured) then returning to play the glamour tie then secure yourself a lottery win contract with good international peformances...
Yeah - I think we all now know that Cashley is a class A cnut. He should have never got back into the team that year. I am sure it was a contributing factor to Flamini eventually leaving - he had doone a brilliant job in the campaign that year and lost out.
