I've spent 6 months in Zambia spread over a couple of journeys out there so I'm loving their performance both tonight and in the competition. They really love their football there and you won't find a nicer, more welcoming nation of people anywhere in the world!
What a game! Zambia fully deserved that win for their courage to attack the favourites, and they created the better chances as well. They've beaten Senegal and Ghana along the way, so probably they can say they've beaten the three best teams in the competition.
Absolutely brilliant. After the terrible tragedy all those years ago, to come back to the place they died and win the cup like this, is the stuff Hollywood films are made out of. The singing during the shoot out, was one of the most moving things I've seen during a sports event.
Did you notice that the Zambian player who sealed it was singing as he ran up? Brilliant. Thrilled to see them win it.
F**k me that's impressive. Also very reassuring and refreshing reading the views of someone with an interest in African football who has actually taken the time to watch the guy play rather than the countless Twitter posts complaining he's not a CB.
Yes very impressive. He was only the stand-out player of the tournament after all! Let's hope he can recapture that form in the premier league!
well well, that must be quite satisfying Joe. Looking forward to seeing this guy in action. Does anyone anticipate that he'd be available at the weekend?
