Do you think that DM will hang around, he is struggling to turn our club around.
There seems to be big rumours up in Scotland that all is not well.

We have lost 5 of the last six games,we don't look like we are going to score in a brothel.

What do you guys up north think.

I personally thought better candidates were avaliable in Billy Davies and Dave Jones.

The motivation seems to have gone sadly.

I think Delboy is an outstanding choice,he has been left 3 managers crap,a board who are controlling expenditure vigourously and he accepts blame for failure.

We should judge him after a full season of his own players, team and tactics and that comes July 2013.

I still believe this man will benefit Bristol City and I for one Stand 100% behind him and Doc...

My own belief is yes,he took the job on knowing our weaknesses,he ain't going to run and give in.

Del and Doc gave up a soft little number and moved home and families 600 miles (don't know the exact difference) they are in it for the long term, unless sacked.

We would be stupid not to support them, there are those that don't and they are entitled to their opinion,we are a small club and have reached our level but our future is going to depend on Delboy,it would be stupid to undermine his efforts now.

My opinion only and he ain't going nowhere.

So what your saying is he may leave now in the middle of the season ?

Any manager would be in the same position as we are now, our team isn't good enough and are left with a lot of average players most won't get into League 1 teams, it has been coming and god even Millen kept us up with virtually the same squad

Provided he can ditch 50% or more of the squad at the end of the season, and is given the freedom to re build on his terms I think he'll be fine.

If not then he might feel like he's wasting his time (as Coppell did) and bail.

It seems that the harsh reality of Championship life has impacted on us.
Fact is, since Wembley we have struggled to impose ourselves on the league table.
GJ lost his way, trying to develop it to the top level.
Millen, despite what people on here think, did raise hopes a couple of times in his full season in charge, but the reality caught up with him also. The Championship is a difficult league to be consistently accomplished in. It requires skilled management yes, but also real financial backing to buy the players capable of dominating it.
What Blackpool and Hull achieved was remarkable, and very rare. Southampton and West Ham have both spent a large sum to enhance their promotion prospects, something City should have done at the turn of 2008.

So if we cant spend 10 million to give ourselves a realistic chance, then half of that figure would see us with a youth academy, run by Spanish, German or French coaches, which would, in a short enough space of time, deliver a team to take us to the Premiership.
    Thats not rocket science.
If we cant compete with bigger clubs financially, then we have to take the Alan Dicks route, or the Leeds route of the 1960s

I really hope Del doesn't bail on us that would be the pits. Unless he was lied to when he took the job, he must have known the limitations of the squad and the financial restrictions that would come with it.

Really and truly believe he's the man to restore some pride, but as the saying goes, you can't polish a turd and that's what he's having to deal with to try and keep us up.

We need some loans in key positions and fast, but they need to be of a better quality that we've currently got otherwise there is just no point

He just does'nt strike me as the type to walk away from a fight. I think he will stay with us for a long while yet, be it in this division or the one below.
As has been said above, a few loans in key positions should see us in a much better vein of form and I think (pray!) we will avoid the drop.

It has to be said though, we are pretty darn ****e at the moment!

Well it didn't take long for Del to feel the backlash from some of our so called fans (and you know who you are ), blimey give the man a chance, Rome wasn't built in a day, what the man inherited was an average bunch of footballers, bar a few, we all know where we are failing, position wise, and so does he, the man may be trying hard to bring players in, but is obviously restricted, money wise.
So lets give the man a chance, we were all upbeat after his first few games, the team wasn't helped by the Maynard saga.
I'm not saying he's the man to take us to the highest level, but if we don't give the man our backing and support, we will never know will we, so come on you doubters and true city fans, lets get behind Del & the boys in this difficult time.

FFS, What do you expect from a man with a crop of crap players? 10-0 wins every game playing like barcelona?

Want to turn out like the gas, and appoint a new manager every 5 games just because they lost a couple?

    Un-ba-lievable.

Lan, sometimes you just have to make that decision until you get the right one. You are correct to point out how many managers we have had but they all kept us going in the wrong direction so decisions had to be made. Now we have a goodun!!

Funny how quickly things turn around. Del came in gave us the feel good factor and a few points and we were calling himthe messiah. Now reality has struck and the usual suspects are calling for his head.

In the mean time rovers messiah turned out to be the village idiot and we all laughed. In comes a new messiah (how many are there?) and they now think they will win promotion. I wonder how they will react when they go on a poor run.

We are in this position not because of Del, Millen or any one particular person. It is down to a series of poor decisions, poor players and in some cases bad luck.

Del is an outstanding leader who has the ability to succeed. If we can scrape through this season then he have a chance to build his own team, but this will be on a budget. If he brings success under these conditions he may very well be the messiah!

    I hope he is.

What's making us happy is how we are playing now that ****le has gone. There is some spirit, effort and application back in the team and that's all you can ask for from a League 2 squad. We were dire under ****le. Now, regardless of whether we win, draw and lose, at least the team are trying and look organised.

Any Gashead who genuinely thinks that we've got a chance of promotion this season is deluded. It is, of course, possible - but it won't happen.

I'm of the opinion that you have a squad perfectly capable of staying up, you've beaten Southampton home and away for goodness sake!

However, your young manager's inability to motivate the team after a promising start is very worrying indeed for supporters of BCFC. I know my 82er mates are both worried and perplexed.

I wonder whether we would be having this debate if DM had started with 5 defeats out of 6, and still made 24 points from 19 games, which is lower mid-table form. Yes the 'honeymoon' period is over, and everyone is aware where we need to strengthen. Many of our defeats could and should have been wins -Derby, Coventry, even Leeds. But v Hull city we were out-foxed. They seemed to have done their homework, and that is alarming.... However by no means was the capitulation as was seen as Blackpool- that I think was the difference. The players believe the the manager can put things right. We are not going to pull up trees this season, as I thought we might pre-Christmas, but given some breaks and rub of the green, combined with the acumen of DM, we should be safe.
