Maicon. Doesn't play for Inter much, has little appearances this season and he is someone who will do job for 2 or 3 years
That BS with the hand signals to fat Sam lead to the rant, the press crucified him and Benitez was never the same.
A world class goal scorer. a creative midfielder. Really dont think we need lennon, as we have Sterling coming through and he has the potential to be a much better player. Truly believe he will have a massive impact on the first team. I honestly believe that with the exception of the goalscorer, we have every thing we need developing in the reserves. Even then though, everything wil have to be perfect to win the league. Mentality, belief, confidence, consistancy and no stupid issues off of the pitch
Yes, it's not just a case of saying we should sign x, y and z players and we will win the league, it has a lot to do with Mentality, belief, confidence, consistancy and no stupid issues off of the pitch.
21 points adrift after 25 games, at this rate LFC will finish this season seeking to add 30 points next season. Anyone who thinks that they have 'everything needed' is so delusional it beggars belief. Simply nowhere near the title.
Yep, we know, that's what we are discussing, but Thank You for your input, very much appreciated, well done, gold star.
This summer we will have a very difficult series of decisions to make. The majority here are in agreement that the basis of a strong squad is already in place. A winger and a goalscorer (note I did not say striker) appear to be an imperative. However the standard by which we judge players this summer must be "Do they improve the quality of our squad".
Fancy quantifying that into an answer tothe thread.? For example Liverpool would need........... As it happens, Liverpool have dominated most of the games they have drawn this year and the addidtion of a creative influence in midfield and a good goalscorer could be enough to open defences and turn the draws to wins, which would put us right up there. But I dont think your here to provide a sensible answer, so why not just do one..... Alternatively prove me wrong and show true knowledge of what Liverpool need
Don't think we need to improve the squad, I think we need to improve the first eleven, which is going to be hard and take lots of £££. But that is the only way we can go to the next level. Players like Downing, Henderson and Adam will become squad players, which is great, that is exacly what you need.
Bazray, it is the 'First 11' mentality that has plagued LFC for years. We readily slipped into being a 1 or 2 man team. We need to be able to use ALL the members of our squad. We need to be able to cover injuries like for like. We need to be able to select players to overcome the individual challenges posed by our opponents. We need to be able to change the nature of our strategy within games. It's no longer an 11 man game. We therefore need quality in all areas of our squad of 23
Agree, lets say for example Kuyt is first choice right wing, if we go out and sign Ericksson kuyt then becomes a squad player. The result the first team improves and the squad improves. Signing a player worse than Kuyt is pointless. When i say improve the 11, I do not want to sell the player who is replaced.
Our core team is there and we have some solid squad players. We lack two quality wingers, a floating, creative attacking midfielder and a goalscorer. Since Johnson is likely leaving in the summer, Kelly will play there but a flexible RB will be needed as cover. I'd buy Isla (Udinese) for RB but can play anywhere down the right and is quality going forward (realistic even without CL football this summer). Hoilet to cover both flanks (out of contract this summer and looks like he could be great). Vargas (Fiorentina), can play anywhere down the left but better in an attacking winger role imo (also realistic without CL football). Eriksen, break the bank for this one. He's gonna be world class, long term replacement for Gerrard in the roaming creating mid role. If CL qualification, go for Hazard. De Jong (Twente) striker, linked heavily with him in January, hope we move for him in the summer. Looks like another gem. Of those 5 only Eriksen/Hazard is 'unrealistic', but the other 4 are within our pulling power without CL qualification. Those alone would push us right up there next season and challenging the season after when our youth really become ready for the first team (raheem, suso, coady, etc) never mind the reserve players now who will improve and mature (Kelly, Coates, Spearing, etc). -----------Reina------------ Kelly--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique ----------Lucas------------ Isla------------------Vargas -----Gerrard--Suarez------- ----------Carroll----------- Subs from: Adam/Bellamy/De Jong/Spearing/Sterling/Suso/Coates/Hoilet
