I'd not looked at the jumpers bumpers until now, I must say I fancy an e/w dabble on Afsoun at 16s in the 3.20. His flat rating alone makes him interesting in this sphere but he has also been rejuvenated over hurdles this season,
Why is Alderwood double priced over in Ireland? Surely he has the form in the book to take this race and from watching highlights he travels very strongly and has the AP drive too.
Think Last Instalment will have to make it a proper test to beat Grands Crus, as will everything else for that matter. Apparently he wouldn't want the ground any quicker which must be another concern considering it's hardly quick. Might be that First Lieutenant, confirmed on good, is Gigginstown's best RSA shot.
Totally RV and was of that opinion before today and told Zen the same in November...GC is a doubtful stayer imo and his exuberant style of racing won't suit the attritonal RSA...Dorans Pride won the stayerts hurdle and didn't stay an extended 3m at HQ..not a given 3m hurdlers will stay farther..GC has been easily beaten both times over 3m+ and I can't have him at any price for the RSA if this LI turns up. Todays event was over 2m5f and he still won...DR says he's better than Weapons Amnesty who won an RSA beating LR et al. All about opinions!!
Dex nice one mate First Lieutenant not a RSA winner though novice who Davey Russell has chosen to ride over Last Installment . I will be very disappointed if the horse I just watched is good enough to win the RSA. As you say all about opinions though mate- what makes this sport great
Wash your mouth out RV. I've got loads of bets on First Lieutenant for the RSA dating back from last years Cheltenham that i'm holding out hope for.
Pozyc is too big at 10/1 excuses lto Dex all this RSA talk - getting me excited for Chelts - that and Wooly with his countdown come onnnnnnnnn
Quel I find it interesting that Davy Russell chose First Lieutennant over Last Installment and although the result didn't go in his favour that day he is certainly the one I like better for the RSA- proven Cheltenham form and I doubt we have seen the best of him yet. Still I will be boring and stick with Grand Crus if he goes this route
DR did explain that choice at the time saying in a nutshell that FL was the proven grade one performer and was potentially viewed as a better chasing prospect than a hurdler whereas LI hadn't proven himself at that point. He said it was a very tough call and he could well be wrong. I wouldn't read too much into it.
