Drop Seb for who though? I wouldn't play Elmore' he's fast but a liability defensively. Campbell could played right but that leaves Wickham up front? Otherwise if Catts is fit u could push Gardner to the right?

I think that could be a mistake, we seem to sit so deep that the set piece situation is our best method of attack at the moment.

I think it is difficult for us at the moment, Bendtner could not play against Arsenal anyhow and even if Catts was fit he is like Seb a good player to have in the side, Catts for defensive midfield and Seb for his free kicks but both of them have little legs that do not go very fast. So my guess yesteday is that just as McClean helped out Rico (who is quick anyhow) with Walcott, Frazier had to help our McBardo, cos Seb is not quick enough. By and large it worked, sort of as Sess is not good as CF. Until the last part of the game when they were fresher than us and their subs (who scored the goals) game on. Our bench just does not have that game changing quality, although Ji had a chance of a shot that he scuffed.

Next week I think we have to go with the same personnel/team and similar tactics and with Frazier not playing CF we are limiting ourselves in attack but I cannot see the alternative!

If Cattermole is fit then his name should be first on the sheet, it's a cup-tie remember.

Totally agree syd, MON must go after that hapless display yesterday. Didn't get to the match was down Manchester with work but, did you see the way Arsenal celebrated the win? You'd think they'd just beaten Barca the way they reacted.
From what I saw we were as said beaten by fresh legs no disgrace there and, maybe if we had won by the 90 minutes on Wednesday things could have been different we'll find out next week when it's Arsenal who have the midweek game.
Watched the game with a barcode just after we watched his team get a good hiding off Spurs so both of us were a bit nicked off, after that we managed to get drunk and put our respective teams to rights.

and that says it all about how far we have come, lost to the gooners by injury time goal but nicked off. Not long ago we would be happy to just lose by one goal

Will the two new loanee's be able to play the cup tie? Read somewhere that they missed the Boro game due to not having signed in time.

I'm refering to WB and GG.

I thought it was because it was a replay, they were not at the club/in the team for the 1st tie, so they couldnt play in the 2nd, but neither are cup tied as far as i am aware, so I dont see why they should not be able too.

They may do but its Not MON's way, he tends to go for best team rather than give them a chance for a game, best way IMO

I'm not disputing that Syd. It was perhaps an alternative thought, considering how tired some player's looked.
I realise MON wants to get as far as he can with the team in the cup, I would also like us to do well, but with the squad a bit threadbare due to injuries, is it a case of trying to get as high up the league as we can?

I know what you mean, I would like Westy in goal to see if he can retain the number 1 spot and we do have a few rather big games coming up, short trips, hand shakes and all that.

Don't think the Mig will be happy to shake Westy hand if it meant losing Number 1 spot.

Too right mate must be something to do with this winning lark that we keep doing. Not long ago we would have been happy to not get beat by too many, still happy days for us lot.
