I've been out in the garden and collected some of the peanuts I leave out for the squirrels. The nuts may be a bit chewed and damp - but I'm sure you'll like them.
Yes and that's nothing like him 'refusing to sign a contract'. He's said he wants to sort it out in the summer, he also has reiterated his commitment to Arsenal and he's also rubbished stories in the press linking him with a move away. Filling in the blanks with speculation is just that really.
What part of this don't you understand Piskie? Wenger wants to sign RVP to a new contract during the season. RVP wont do it. He is refusing to sign OR refusing to enter into negotiations if a contract has not been prepared yet. Speculating as you do about his commitment - which he has never given for next year - and what he might do in the summer is fine, but its pure speculation nonetheless. It's ok to hope he signs ( i do too), but at the moment I am just discussing and commenting on reality.
There has been plenty of speculation on RVP and another contract. What remains as FACT is that he is in a much better bargaining position at the end of the season - Bosman rules.
There is not a single shred of evidence to suggest RVP had refused to sign a contract. You're the only one speculating. So yes Facts are facts.
As per the link above, and my link earlier, Wenger wants to do business before the end of the season. He wanted to get the deal done way back in October. That's fact. RVP has not signed yet. That's also fact. Therefore the reality is for right now RVP is refusing to sign a contract or discuss it, which is what I said. The only speculation is when people say he should sign in the summer, or that he is committed for next year. He has never said either of those things. Wenger wants to get it done, RvP does does not.
So an article that looks like it was written in Google translate is your source?? Here's an extract from that masterful piece of journalism.. '' “For me commitment isn’t how long you’re at the club, it’s as long as you’re there you give 100 per cent until the last day of your contract." Seriously ? ... well that showed me.
I already posted another link too. Wenger wanted the deal done back in October, and RVP has yet to sign. Therefore he has refused to sign, or refused to discuss. Facts. The only wild speculation is that he will probably sign in the summer, or if we mss the CL we will strengthen enough for him to sign anyway ( as you said ), or that he is too loyal to not sign.
OK firstly the article is NOT a reliable source and secondly nowhere does it say that Robin has 'refused to sign', just that they have not yet agreed terms. Arsenal have always been slow when it comes to contract negotiations. There's three possible scenarios here... 1. We DO in fact make the top four and qualify for the Champions League. If that's the case I can only see Robin leaving. 2. We fail to make the top four. Now Wenger has stated that the club will re-evaluate their transfer policy should this happen. Bringing in a few quality additions would also convince Robin to stay imo. 3. The board decide to cash in to Van Persie. None of these involve van persie refusing to sign a new contract because i dont see that happening. The dutchman has alwayscome across as being extremely loyal to arsenal and has often spoken of his love for 'London life'. If he does leave it'll most likley be because the board want to cash in.
He's not refusing to do anything. He has discussed it with Wenger and has said he will sort it out in the summer. Wenger has said that he'd prefer to sort it out sooner, but respects the player's wishes to do it in a few months. How you manage to extrapolate that he's 'refusing to sign a contract' when no contract is even likely to have been drawn up yet, is simply a product of wild speculation.
He's not refusing to even discuss signing a contract. He's said that he will discuss his contract in the summer.
The point being, that there is no contract at the moment, so he can't sign one. It's not a case of him refusing to sign or refusing to discuss one - as he's said that he will discuss it in the summer. We can go round in circles with this and speculate whether he will sign or not, but the only thing he's said is that he'll sort it out in the summer.
