Stuffed Just come on here to give credit where it's due, you're in scintillating form and could've have easily swept aside any team tonight. I'm just gutted it had to be us! Cheers for wishing us into 4th! Don't think we'll be anywhere near, myself, but we can dream eh!
I pray nightly that you should finish 4th, followed by a supplication that Van Persie should pick up his long-overdue annual injury.
I was well pleased with BAE's goal yesterday. He is a fit athletic player, let's see him get in those positions more often.
The ESPN and MOTD' experts, whilst appropriately lauding Ade and Saha etc, totally missed the significance and quality of 's goal. Not only was the finish a lot tougher than they made out (a whole lot of PL strikers we know would have been proud of the way he stroked it in on the angle) but the fact that our LB was in that position to execute it in the first 5 mins of a match that everyone was expecting to be a tight encounter...... Quality - and a testament to our football. It made a huge statement that probably undermined Newcastles game plan.
Really wish we had Cabaye and Tiote for this one. It's basically like you guys losing Modric and Parker, and probably worse still as your CM backup is better than ours. Real hard blow. Pardew playing 4-4-2 with a far inferior midfield duo away from SJP was just asking for trouble as well to be honest. I still think we would have lost as you guys had one hell of a performance, but many of our players need to take responsibility for essentially being battered for 90 minutes. Simpson especially was dire.
Did Pardew have much choice about his midfield? I'm not sure who else he could've played(I'm sure you know alot better than me).Unfortunately you caught us on a day when we just hit the ground running at about 100mph. I think I'm talking for most Spurs fans on here, when I say I hope Newcastle get 4th,been a great season for you so far.
Not really any choice, no. It's debatable whether Perch and Guthrie are the best CMs we have at the moment, but it's the managers decision. Put it this way though, Cabaye and Tiote on-form are about 10 times better than Perch and Guthrie. Perch has done slightly better than we expected as of late (many mags usually consider him the worst player we have) but they just aren't in the same league. Guthrie is actually pretty good, but he had a real off-day yesterday. I just don't know why so many of the players didn't turn up. Your side were much better than us and well and truely outplayed us, but we could, and should, have done a bit better than that at least. I hope we get 4th too. We got battered, but with so many key players out of the side I'm not taking it to heart too much and I know we can keep a good momentum going when they get back. It isn't entirely about the physical ability of the players, it's also about the winning mentality players like Cabaye and Tiote have. We missed it yesterday. Doubt we'll manage it though to be honest. I like the optimism fans of other teams have for us but it's a big ask.
I missed the entire match - thanks work! I kept asking customers what the score was - I heard 3-0 Spurs, 4-0 Spurs then 3-0 Newcastle (which scared me half to death) then 5-0 Spurs. To say I was quite happy was an understatement Watched MOTD and it looked like we cut them apart tbh - Saha's finishing is something we've lacked for ages - I was confused as to why we signed him but perhaps I might be eating my words before long Excellent result as well considering Chelsea lost (Agent Pienaar ftw!). Now let's hope Aston Villa can hold up City...
I really will have to try to find my way around this forum because I know you all want to hear what i have to say
Agents Hutton and Keane? Villa might not be the side they were a few years ago, but they can still pose problems for teams on their day as Chelsea found out. Lets just hope the Villa that played Chelsea and Wolves turn up, and not the Villa that played Spurs and Liverpool.

The only way that Agent Hutton will likely assist is by committing (for example) a waist high scissor kick on Silva and/or Aguero which sees them both miss the remainder of the season through injury!!
Hiya Spurf I have been told that there is actually some decent football debate on this forum ? I have tried a couple of others and its like kiddies corner
Decent football debate? In amongst all the mindless wumming......... Mind you, sometimes some targeted vitriol is just what's needed!! You'll certainly see some familiar faces on here from the 606 days - even if the names have been changed to protect the innocent!!! :
Morning Grand, the debates tend to be over a period of time rather than quick fire. We need more posters like yourself and Spurcat but I've looked in on ja from time to time and that really is kiddies corner. This site has all the makings and there have been decent debates but another dozen regular decent contributors would make a big difference. We are getting there.
Spurf Laziness took me to ja to be honest. It was laid out like 606 so it was the easy option but I have to say the only decent thing about it are the match threads, they are very good, but as for the rest of it, lets just be polite say its a waste of time
Well I got a good thread going on the Arsenal board on Thursday about R.Madrid wanting RVP.It's turned into a slagging match so I think I've done a good job there.
Haha - that was the impression I got from ja as well - left that well alone The best bits about this site are these match threads and the fact you can have a discussion about other footballing matters (along with a bit of banter thrown in for good measure)
Quite agree,I stayed on ja for about 10minutes before it got on my nerves. GrandSpurs nice to have you here.We do have some good debates on here, also our fair amount of arguments, which on the whole are good tempered(well mostly).
