Xenophobia is ok in England, to call some one black is not. Apparently. You can call people's sister a whore or call them greasy bastard, but whatever you do don't say the word black. And when a man makes false allegations about you, whatever you do, you must shake his hand. I am English, but some English people are an absolute embarresment.
Have to say I'm getting really confused with what is acceptable and what is not. Backing your players 100% (even if in the wrong) is wrong. Unless you are the United manager in which case the wrong is right. Having a national manager that stands by a player accused of racism is wrong but having a temporary manager who is a proven racist and can continue selecting said player as long as he doesn't do anything captainy is right. Being bigoted regarding the colour of a persons skin is wrong but being bigoted about how they speak a foreign language or that they are not English is right. Phew! This is hard. Oh and finally calling someone racists names is wrong but calling for the official body to deliberately discriminate in the selection process & deny a suitable candidate a job based solely on the fact they were not born in a certain country is right. Do we teach all these civic values in schools? Tough class I'd say...
Yea, it's mad really, bunch of hypocrites all of them, Kenny is the only bloke who shown any dignity throughout all of this, even he is being villafied for ' Supporting a racist'
Donga Thank you for articulating a good reply. I do not for one second think that it is fair or acceptable that Evra can say something about Suarez's sister, and it is deemed less offensive than a racial insult. Suarez should not blame Evra for that. Evra admitted to saying it. However, large parts of your reply seem rooted in paranoia (united controlled media?). It is folly to write-off a former Liverpool great (Hansen) because you suddenly distrust his childhood football team, and then overlook others aspects of this case because it doesn't fit your argument. You seem intent on defending Suarez, regardless of the circumstances. Regardless of perceived injustice, yesterday was a chance to put it to bed, and your man Suarez has ensured that it gets dragged on. I work with some Spanish and Asian people, a Khazak (who use the word negre) and an Ecudorian , all of whom felt that Suarez was guilty, as do many former Ajax fans. No-one here in Holland has a good word to say about him.
Incidentally - does anyone know why Liverpool / Dalglish / Suarez DID NOT APPEAL the outcome of the Independent Commission and subsequent FA ruling?
Who'd be a journalist in this day and age? I'd cry myself to sleep everynight. To say 'no-one' in Holland has a good word to say is probably an exaggeration, and in that respect, yes I guess I could be a journalist. I should have said - 99.9% of people here in Holland don't have a good word to say about him. The other 0.01% is a Liverpool fan and part-time Ostrich.
No, but seriously, I watched the game with an ardent Liverpool fan and season ticket holder on the Kop for 6 seasons. The instant the non-handshake happened he said; "What a moron.... ...we need to sell him - fast". You see. Sense. It does exist.
Because they couldn't. The "independent panel" included the statement that they were not looking at the subjective but the objective interpretation (even though they went on to do exactly that ) of the law. So: Suarez admitted that he used a term referring to the colour of Evras skin. Evra insisted he felt insulted & abused by this. So Suarez can't challenge a literal interpretation of the ruling. He also doesn't have the scope in the appeal to challenge the severity of the punishment only the yeah or neah of the ruling. LFC could have challenged the entire process but that would have been stepping outside of the system you require your business to be in to continue so not really an option. They are Buffoons the FA but they are experts at covering their own backsides.
You are still an obsessed closet self hating Liverpool fan. I can help you with that: aversion therapy; you just have to allow me to hook up you mouse to the mains...
sorry dongo, but to come out much later and say that both commolli and kuyt 'misunderstood' suarez is crap. duarez spoke to kuyt in dutch so is his dutch bad as well?
Luis Suarez: I'm sorry. Source: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/luis-suarez-i-m-sorry Hopefully we can all draw a line under the whole incident now.
Incidentally - does anyone know why Liverpool / Dalglish / Suarez DID NOT APPEAL the outcome of the Independent Commission and subsequent FA ruling? You CAN'T appeal against the decision, just the sanction. The only outcome with a vindictive, United-controlled FA would have been a longer ban, and it wouldn't have started until after the appeal - So Martin Luther Ferguson and St Patrice of Your Sister's Pussy would have got what they wanted: Suarez banned for the United game. Only had we gone to the CAS in Switzerland and a PROPER court could we have exposed the FA as posturing, United-conrolled gangsters and their system as being a show trial on par with anything from the days of Stalin and Hitler. And let us turn this around too - if Suarez is guilty of racial abuse WHY HAS HE NOT BEEN CHARGED BY A REAL COURT? Because the evidence wouldn't get past first base (unlike that against Evra) as there is NO PROVABLE INTENT! And he didn't tell KUYT what it was in Dutch per se, just that the same translated the same way both in Dutch and Spanish. Even the language experts say that Evra's version of porque doesn't stand up to Rio Plate Spanish. http://newsframes.wordpress.com/2012/01/06/media-on-racism-churnalism/
sorry dongo, but to come out much later and say that both commolli and kuyt 'misunderstood' suarez is crap. duarez spoke to kuyt in dutch so is his dutch bad as well? And if you check my posts (and others' too) from NEw Year's Day (when some of us actually read the whole 115 pages before commenting, unlike lardarse Samuel, Lawton, Holt et al who skim-read the summary) you'll see this one was picked to pieces a long, long time ago.
