Morning Cerny! Thanks for the inside track here. Let's wait and see what unfolds. A few years ago, when we were struggling to survive, the threat of administration was again upon us. At the time many posters on the old BBC site were staring down the barrel asking 'what if there is no QPR, what next?'. One poster answered it perfectly - 'we'll carry on supporting the club in whatever form, that's what we've always done, that's what we'll always do'. The same applies here; and as before we 'the supporters' have little or no control as this plays out infront of us, but those are the game rules! Hence unlike some others why I am positive about this bit of ITK insight, especially when you consider where we've come in such a short space of time.
So you seriously think all our wealthy investors will walk away because we've had a bad run of results? TF has been here six months, made countless 'announcements' of what a long-term project we are and all the grandiose plans he has along with Amit and even said we had factored in relegation as a possibility. Many of us thought he was a bullsh*tter from his attempts to take over West Ham but that seemed to have been put to bed following his investment with us. His loss of face would really scupper his credibility big-time. There are factors to this story that could alarm us and others to make us think it is just rumour-mongering or even the possibility of a Mittal takeover. Whatever happens, we, the real supporters, will still be here as Sku says. We've been to hell and back in the last 15 years or so, a return journey is always a possibility but we'll still be supporting OUR club whether we're in the Champions League or the Combined Counties League...
I just wonder where this will leave MH. I would have thought that he came because of one or two in the boardroom promising money and opportunities - if this was TF will he stay? Also the other person that came on board....what's known of him....
We all know Cerny talks absolute rubbish. he has to post something and i suppose the transfer window is shut so this is as good anything!!!
As he will be on Saturday 21st April.... Small print: Subject to injury, suspension, and Sky Sports schedule!
I, like the rest of you, have no idea if there is any truth in this or not. What I will say is that I always suspected that TF was a front man for the Mittals. It seemed to me that the Mittals didn't buy from the goons because of a huge falling out with Bernie. He wouldn't have sold to Mittal no matter what he offered!! The Mittals in charge, with Amit as Chairman doesn't look like a disaster to me, but relegation will put a whole new spin on it. The only thing that doesn't quite add up to me is TF's promises for the future. He really will lose all credibility if he sells up now. And if it was agreed all along that he would sell up to the Mittals eventually, then surely he would have kept a lower profile?
The last thing we need at the moment is more shuffles. We've had shuffles among shareholders, shuffles at board level, our stadium will change, the training ground is changing, there's a shuffle at managerial level and we've had shuffles on the pitch big time. ... And what happened yesterday? All our new thoroughbred players were failing, so we brought on one of the "has-been's" and he scores two goals! We need a period of stability - that's what we had when Warnock took us up, it's what Norwich and Swansea have. If there are to be changes of the ownership, and thus to the masters to whom Sparky reports, I hope it's not done before the end of the season.
I agree it seems unlikely that TF's ego could stand the hit of him selling up but he could do the same as Flabio did: sell 99% of his shares to Mittal and claim quite correctly that he is still a shareholder.
