Now during the summer everyone was begging and crying out for us to sign mata,
and then quite the opposite when we signed Oxo how hes too young, to much money, not what we need etc etc

Now both players have had a few games in the league, both showing some amazing ability and both players looking class!

So now i ask you, if it was all over again now knowing everything now would you act differently?
would you still want Mata instead of oxo?
    is he too expensive?

and chelsea fans, are you happy with Mata?

Very happy with Mata and his countless good performances as oppose to Chamberlain's approx 3 good performances.

Very different players, Mata is way better at the moment but Oxo looks set to catch up.

If the board weren't hopeless, we could have had them both.

Whilst it would be nice to have them both, it's a slightly unrealistic scenario.

Mata is a class player, he would have done well at Arsenal. Oxo looks like he could be just as important for us and for me he looks like the more exciting player. As for paying £12m for him, that was the going rate. Not a bargain, but then they don't really exist for young English players anymore - People would have criticised Wenger if he hadn't of bought him and Oxo was doing well for another club.

Mata is world class. Ox has the potential to be. You can't compare over the age gap in afraid. I'm not sure if this wasn't an attempted wind up, but to answer your question, Chelsea are more than happy with one of the worlds best players. I am envious of Ox though. Very exciting potential.

Mata is already an established player, and a very good one at that. While Ox has vast potential he needs time to develop still.

I don't mind fast close passing drawing out their midfield - but we seem to want to go back to CBs every time.
All that does is allow time for them to reorganise shape. We must try more forward passes earlier.
Having said that Song appears unable to pass forward - always losing possession.:headbang:

  8. Spot on. Its so boring to watch the sideways and backwards passing going nowhere. Its true that all it does is improve the possession stats and allows the opponents to get back into shape. Doesn't even wear out the opposition as they can just hold positions and not chase.

Mata is a good player with Barca DNA. Whether it is good or bad for Chelsea time will tell.

Mata one of Chelseas best buys in the last decade. He will be off soon if we don't pay him decent wages and use him in the correct position. Like Sturridge, is slowly going off the boil because they are running in circles looking for someone to pass to.

Not much point in giving the ball away if there isn't anyone in space to pass to. Sometimes you just have to be patient. It isn't Chelsea or Arsenal that are making it a boring game, it is the sides putting 10 men behind the ball.

Man U, Man City and Tottenham seem to be able to play a quicker passing game, more effective than us. The argument that teams sit back and defend only highlights the fact we are crap at breaking them down. We dilly dally too much, for too long. We need to be looking to get the ball forward far quicker.

As for Song and his passing skill, he will NEVER cut it for me at the top level, not good enough. Cracking win at Sunderland though.

As for the original argument, Mata would've been much better with us, we play more attacking football. So I'd have preferred Mata to Oxo, he doesn't need to develop or get consistent - he already is.

Why can't we have both? Mata would have slotted perfectly into our Central Attacking midfield. He would have combined with RVP, Walcott and OXO/Gervinho really well. Also he scores loads of goals. If we had Mata, we would have an extra 5-9 points.....
