The guy needs more protection from refs, whenever he gets pushed clearly to the floor the ref never gives anything to him, it's as if they think he needs to be strong on every high ball challenge.
I don't think he needs protecting, I think the refs give free kicks against him far too often for nothing challenges. He lays his hand on someone's back and it's enough to warrant a free kick, it's a joke.
Refs aren't consistent enough when Carroll is playing. Carroll will be penalized for using his strength and more often than not the defender will get away with it
My opinion is if Carroll has to leap to reach the cross then its to high, and very difficult to turn into the net.
He doens't help his case by crying like a 12year old every time he goes down and forgetting about the ball...he'd have had half a dozen clear cut chances if he just carried on playing instead of whinging.
He looks gaunt and ill to me. Maybe a bit like when Juande Ramos put the SPurs playesr on some super diet/fitness regime, and got them super fit, but when Uncle Harry came in he thought the players looked hungry and chips and beans were back on the mene. But Carroll does look ill.
