I've just been reading a few articles about something which must have passed over my head when it happened, and that is the unfortunate business of Graeme Le Saux's years of abuse over his alleged homosexuality. I never took any notice of this at the time because, frankly, I couldn't care less about who is gay and who is straight. However, until today, I was not fully aware of how bad this abuse was, and how ridiculous his abusers' reasons were for thinking that he might be gay. According to Le Saux's article on Wikipedia, fellow footballers berated him for being gay because of "his university background, and the fact that he read a left-wing broadsheet newspaper, The Guardian."

Now hang on a second, I'm university educated and I'm a regular reader of The Guardian, and I'm approximately 100% sure I'm not gay. Also, I'm pretty sure Graeme Le Saux isn't gay either, considering he has a wife and two kids (though that is by no means a guarantee). What I'm getting at here is that I had no idea until today that being well-educated and being of a left-leaning political orientation were well-known signs of homosexuality. Do a lot of people in this country hold the same mistaken views? Someone should correct them.

Furthermore, do we think that there are still a lot of people in football who think and act like this? Would a university-educated, Guardian-reading footballer be welcomed into the squad here at Southampton FC? Or would his teammates mock him in training and repeatedly bend over in from of him and point their arses in his direction?

I have no allegiance really, though I am very anti-Tory. I'm probably closer to Green that anything else.

I'm a socialist, I care about people, ergo by default anti tory. I've read the Guardian for years and studied music to a professional level, so I must be a fruit cup, by the le Saux theory.

How queer! Hehhhh heh heh heh heh hehhhh!

They are the best party though.Historically, they've always been the best party.
They are very pro-capitalism which is a very good system for the UK it's always been and always will be.

There isn't a big gap between the rich and the poor in the UK as there is in some other countries in the world and in Europe where socialism usually
prevails.
Like in Portugal for instance, where 10% of the population lives under €5 a day(I think, not sure) and they are some seriously poor people, there aren't any really poor people in the UK.
Even though I'm a socialist, the Tory party is by far the best party in the UK,that's what I think anyway.

Are you making a living from music? If so, how so? I'd like nothing more than to do that.

You are totally out of touch with reality mate. Where have you been living for last twenty years. Pay differentials in the UK are getting wider and wider, Read up on your history of revolutions and you will see that the circumstances in the UK match those in maost countries that immediately experienced a revolution. You talk about an Arab spring but it win't be long before there will be a revolution in the UK. We are in it together! Don't make me laugh. Capitalism is a euphamism for greed of the most disgusting sort. Some of our richest citizens earn as much in a week as it costs to runa school for a year. Up the revolution and I bags that I am in the firing squad with first up the greedy bankers who wrecked our economy.
