I agree with Hothead here and say it's the money in general not the CL alone. If a sponser comes in and offers 10x the money for the FA Cup it will become important again.
Well I would agree with that. Money is the root cause here, however the constant pursuit of the greedy means that the game keeps getting changed to suit the TV not the fans. European competition is just an example of that.
