Well I know at the end of the day, I held up my end of the deal. Going to be off this soon then not back on for awhile. Indoor game tonight that we have to win and I am in a right ****ing mood
the press will elan only one way here. the quote before the game was clear. dallgish felt there was going to be a handshake, evra offered a hand. i will bet anyone if suarez told dalglsi hhe'd not shake any hand then he'd have been onthe bench ala terry. funnily no lfc fan is on about how close that camera was up inthier faces have they? in the end suarez looks a tit and the press will nail him hard as he deserves.
How was work? Must be busy Saturday's. Can I ask you a question, what is the secret spice you put in the chicken?
It would've been good for it to happen - it would've sent a signal to the fans and shut the media up a bit. But not necessarily essential - I don't think people would've minded that much if Suarez had said before the game he didn't want to shake hands. Yes, this is exactly what happened. Well done
I thought today was bigger than just a handshake. LFC have taken a pounding lately and here was a great chance to put the club we all love into a much better light, bury the hatchet, let's move. Even if Suarez was still upset and didn't agree, the club is bigger than him and should have been taken into consideration. If you were unsure what Suarez was actually going to do then we should not have started him. Over here it is blowing up even on ESPN who rarely even talk about footy. So over here in the US, it is showing LFC and Suarez in a horrible light. Not the PR you want when you are working on making LFC more global.
Same for United, Fergie's sly pre match jibes, Evra trying to take out Suarez, United's fans chanting Racist Bastard etc, Evra silly celebrations, the tunnel bust up, Fergie's pre match comments etc. Think United looked as bad as Liverpool if not worse.
this is REALLY simple. 1. everyone knew days ago there would be a handshake, the whole thing was very clear and seeing terry was protected I felt ok, thats good be a man about it and show what you are made of. 2. kenny molly coddled suarez v spurs so he had every exucse to do so again today. he didn't i though... ok lets see him step up then. 3. kenny says he's spoken to him about it and everything was good to go. 4. go watch the video there's the camera bloody waiting for suarez at the end of the line, everything starts out fine then suarez moves past evra's hand. if he tought he was blanked he should have made sure of it as de gea beside him was shocked, evra grabed him and gave him another chance he again refused. rio then blanked him and rightly so. to me suarez showed his true character here, he was either arorgant enoguh to think it was a good thing to wind up evra, or thought he was wronged and evr was too slow sticking our a hand or whatever the hell... he knew what he had to do the minute they didn't appeal. agree or disagree in his head he knew a month ago this was going to come and he miselad his manager over it. In the end it was classless crass and stupid. If evra blanked suarez the press would say fair enough and move on.... hell the crowd were not even that bad! evra got worse (only proving we shout louder) Suarez played in SA where to be frank that kind of reception is tame. ther eis no excuse or defending him imo. I'd fine him two weeks wages and i'd be wanring kenny to stop defneding his antics as well.
I agree with you there, but I just wonder - with all the t-shirts and support and attention the club have given to Suarez over the last few months, does he now think he's as big as the club? Do you reckon the club would've responded the same way if it had been Coates or Doni or Shelvey or one of the squad players who'd been banned?
and no matter what list of greivances an lfc fan comes up about utd..... that'll not even get 1 second air time. IT DOESN'T MATTER.... not if it was true or not, it doesn't matter. Utd will be the victims in the press and lfc the villians and all beacuse of an idiot wearing no 7 and disgracing it.
Your talking about everything United did or didn't do. I am talking about what us, Liverpool Football Club, should have done. All the other stuff would probably have happened regardless but we did not come out in a shining light. Imagine if all you said was the view and Suarez had shaken hands? Then there might be room to say United came out worse but from the off it was just going to be a spectacle. Don't forget the tunnel bust up which we don't know what happened other than Evra wanting to talk to Suarez, did he run up to him, just passing him? At the end, Suarez did well and didn't let Evra celebrating in front of him get to him, but we needed that sort of mentality in the handshake as well for me. Put the club first for a moment, your time for individual justice was when we were going to appeal.
